Hello, guys.

I am starting a hosting site but struggling with managing my team as we all are working in our permanent positions. Time is a very big issue among us, we live a bit far from each other and our schedules don't match up. We are currently stuck in the site development stage and not moving at all.

I need help getting passed this stage but don't know where to start all I know is that I cannot afford to get people to develop the site for, I have a bond I don't want to break with the team thus i cannot just form a new team, I have got the domain and it is ready to setup website on, I have a web developer and I can build website as a real developer because I have knowledge about web design.

The reason I'm starting this business is because there are a lot of webmasters and web designers needing hosting services for their sites and it will give me more opportunities to sell hosting services online.

If anybody that has started such a business, please share your advice and tips.

I recommend having a startup money and having experience in windows or linux servers.

Also, you will not get members for a couple of months. This will take time in order to get the members you are looking for :)

I agree with this post, this is not a get rich quick business. It takes time passion and dedication to make a success in the saturated world of web hosting.
It can take many months to get your first clients and things rolling, but if you keep hammering away good things will start to happen.

Hello @gbjbaanb
As I see you are mostly struggling with skills and costs.
In this scenario like i always say, its best to get reseller when starting off as its cheap and you can set your own prices without having to deal with the technical side of things.
Start ups always make the same mistake of thinking its ok to get a strong VPS, ill make the money back in a few months but its not always that simple. it requires setup which takes some time, it requires you to maintain and it also requires you to purchase all of the licenses as for reseller those are given to you.

In Regards to website development section. an eye catching HTML page is all thats needed then you would be using WHMCS or other admin panels for your customers to order and for automation services.
WHMCS is recommended because its easy both for you and customer plus many are familiar with it.
WHMCS also has a tone of modules if needed.

if you have any more questions let me know and ill be here to answer them.
Regards

First of all code a nice looking website and integrate the same with billing system. Now the most complex part is configuring billing system in terms of plan creation and email templates, server etc etc. Once done you are ready to promote your services

If you have access to web developers, then you can easily make a website. Just put in the time to learn how to make it correctly through online video tutorials. You can always use a template as well, and modify it as you go. Templates usually have a small investment though.
