Are you guys still using dot net for developing websites or PHP is your choice?

Does PHP lacks any thing as compared to dot NET?

I have always used asp.net, and I love it. It is not as popular as php, but it is a wonderful framework

I don't understand why more people chose dot NET that not PHP. does it have advantages over PHP?

For me, I would go with PHP, its easy to learn and develop websites fast.

Actually php is more popular. Mainly because it runs on Linux, which is a free operating system.
Getting Windows based web hosting used to be more expensive (and some hosts still charge more for Windows Hosting). This caused a lot of developer to choose php over .net.

Which is better depends on what you are doing and what languages you know. I don't think there are any valid arguments to prove one language is "better" then the other.

Yes. "Better" is a fairly broad term. Asp may be a somewhat better option for security for the sole reason that most hackers know how to exploit php enabled databases. But of course this is a problem solved by sanitizing your scripts. I've only used php because it is just so well documented and the support community is huge.

If you are familiar with the .NET framework, there is no discernible need to use ASP.NET over PHP. PHP can do everything that ASP.NET can, and it can do it for free, the only difference. :)

This is one argument that I hear a lot, but I see as nothing more then a myth.

You can develop a website using Visual Web Developer and SQL Server Management Studio, which are both free.
You can also also find quality Windows Web Hosting for the same price as Linux hosting.

Sure, purchasing a copy of the Windows Server 2012 OS is not free, but most people aren't having to buy the server OS themselves anyway, so that's a moot point.

See I feel php is much easier to learn and one can create beautiful attractive web design, which can seek attention of user or visitor on that page, so i think Php is better.
One of the greatest example is Facebook, it is written in php.

According to me both are good platform for creating websites. PHP is popular in terms of creating websites with lots of function and options.

This question is irrelevant. Both programming languages are good, and you can do with one exactly what you can do with the other. The only difference is that with PHP you will do it on linux and with .NET you will do it on windows.
The people`s preferences will vary depending on which language they learned first.
Maybe one argument for choosing to learn PHP first is that 9 out of 10 of my clients had a linux based hosting service when contacting me.

Most programmers go with PHP it is easier to learn and open source, I prefer ASP.NET I love it even if it's more complicated than PHP.

This discussion is comparing apples to oranges. PHP is a programming language. ASP.NET is NOT a programming language, it is a web framework. The language used for ASP.NET is generally C# (VB.NET can also be used, but rarely ever is).

So let's compare an apple to an apple, PHP vs C#. Here is what Google gives as a definition to each:

C# - An object-oriented programming language in development from Microsoft, which is intended to combine the computing power of C++ with the programming ease of Visual Basic.

PHP - PHP is a server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a general-purpose programming language.

Google is being misleading. C# is more widely used in NON-web applications than PHP is used as a general purpose programming language. How many people can say they've used PHP for a non-web application? C# is used for Windows phone apps, tools, and even cross platform mobile frameworks

To compare the ASP.NET apple with other apples you must compare it to PHP Frameworks such as, for example, Laraval. See http://vschart.com/compare/laravel/vs/asp-net-mvc-framework
