I discovered yesterday that the Spanish government has made new laws about linking to other websites from your own. It seems that you can be held responsible for anything the linked website does.

Apparently, Google News has been stopped in Spain due to these new laws. I also understand that the EU is considering making it Europewide. I believe that Germany has similar laws too.

Has anyone experienced problems is selling stuff in Europe?

My source for the above post was the Electronic Frontier Foundation blog article dated 10th December 2014.

I don't have enough goodies in my goodies bag to post a direct link.

This is true information, there was a huge uproar about this previously. I do not conduct business in Europe specifically because of the new VAT requirements.

I appreciate the European culture of freedom and free speech but in formulating internet laws Europe seems to be a bit off the mark. It is easier to regulate a man to man handshake but not web links.
