In Google's eyes:

Site A gets indexed with xyz content
then
Site B gets indexed with the same xyz content

Google figures Site B must have plagiarised Site A.

Moral of the story:
If you want to rank well, use your own unique content, not someone else's.

That is syndicated content and Google does not hate that at all.

Before Google came around search engines were really simplistic. They pretty much ranked websites by the number of times the particular keyword showed up on a page. So if you wanted to rank for 'red widgets' all you had to do was mention 'red widgets' on your page more than the next guy and you outranked them. People took advantage of that and used a lot of the same phrases hundreds even thousands of times to rank a page for things it had nothing to do with.

That is the kind of duplicate content Google hates. They have expanded a bit and do not like seeing the same content appear over and over on the same site, even if it is on different pages.

Google just need Quality.
Its just Google never wants duplication like one website already having information for their users that give answers to their queries. Then why that same information in another website. This is why Google hate spammers.

Because google doesn't want to show the same content multiple times in its search results and only want to show unique and original content.

Of course it is correct Google crawler does not like the fake content. But in case of back links it is not true. We have follow all the guidelines of the Google webmaster when we do link building. And Forget the black hat seo tactics.

In terms of SEO, duplicate content is not advisable on any level. You need to have your own keyword rich unique content. If Google thinks you've copied the content you will be penalized. Even if you gave credit to another site, you still would not get credit for the content.

Because of individuals duplicating data found on the web, internet searchers get befuddled about which page has the need and more prominent power. It then registers the duplication in its own index. This prompted web search tool perplexity about which page had need and more prominent power, gravely dissolving the quality and believability of Google's search results. So, Google doesn't like any duplicate content.

Simple example:

What if you have a very unique invention that can really change your life, then, someone copied it and claimed it as theirs and they are the ones who benefited the most from that, while you didn't had any.

Are you going to like it? Of course, not. It's just like that.
