I'm in the process of building my make money blog and it's for adsense or amazon associates. I found some free WordPress themes but the main problem I am facing that is, it is non responsive so on a mobile it looks bad. In your personal opinion, does it matter to you and it will affect to success of your website or not?

For me it doesn't bother me in the least.... Even though I use responsive themes in the most part I have noticed that mobile traffic is the worst converting traffic... For example I no longer use mobile search as part of adwords as I have noticed most of those clicks are curiosity clicks... It makes sense given that I personally rarely buy stuff on my smart phone and suspect many others are the same... In my opinion what works on mobiles are certain niches e.g. selling apps, geo spatial related i.e. booking hotels etc... Therefore if your website relies on mobile traffic it is a big issue and if it does not then I would not worry about it...

If you look more you should be able to find some pretty good responsive templates.
i think the question is, do you want visitors who are coming from their phones and tablets as well as desktop, or just the desktop? It's always better to have responsive.

You want to make it responsive for all formats. You reach a much wider audience this way, regardless of whether its meant to be a niche site or not. Everyone accesses the web using mobile devices these days including those who access the web using a desktop or laptop.

A responsive theme or design is a must if you wish to reach a wider range of potential buyers. More people are using mobile gadgets to access the internet. The more people you reach, the higher the potential for conversions. They may not use the mobile device to close a sale, but they can use their PCs to purchase online. I personally feel safer to make online purchases or bank transactions with my laptop but I use the smartphone or tablet to browse.

I would recommend to definitely go with a responsive design. Specially now more than before, more and more people are starting to use mobile devices to access the internet.

If you're looking for free responsive themes, you can easily find a lot of them. Even if you go to Appearance > Themes > Add New on WordPress, most free themes there are responsive.
