Hi there,
Last weeks, I have created some articles in my tech blog, it was created from blogger but these articles didn't get any traffic although I optimized articles for SEO. My question is, Wordpress blog posts are easy to be indexed in Google than Blogger? should I move to wordpress with my own domain name?

WordPress is considered to be the most popular site for blogging. Why?
1) the site structure is easy for Google bot to crawl and index
2) WordPress follows the norms and regulations of a good blogging site
3) it allows a lot of plugins to be installed (mind it you need a plugin for the basic SEO feature too)
4) it has a lot of themes to choose from (both free and paid ones)
5) you can customize your site with a lot of features
6) it also provides you the option to schedule your posts

A BIG NOOO!

It doesn't matter which one you use, it's just a matter of preference and what you feel comfortable with. Both have their pros and cons. Wordpress is flexible and has a lot of plugins which make things a lot easier as compared to blogger whereby you have to work with the html code.

So things like changing the theme for blogger can be a pain in the a$$ because that means you have to start all over again for things like metadata, things you changed in the header, google analytics code, webmater tools, posts code (if you changed it) etc.

But when it comes to SEO, it doesn't matter which platform you use, just as long as you know what you're doing. Obviously the optimization on blogger is not easy, you need to know a lot of coding unlike wordpress whereby you simply use plugins for most of the stuff.

In terms of indexing, non of them gets better indexed than the other.

So you want to create articles and do some on-page SEO then in 1 or 2 weeks rank high and get truck loads of traffic? You're dreaming, it doesn't work like that. If it was that easy then everyone would be doing it.

We would all be ranking pretty well and getting traffic. SEO takes a lot of time, money and effort. Get off lala-land and start working.

You have to remember that there are people who're already ranking for whatever keywords you're targeting, they worked hard and maybe even spent a lot of money to get there and to gain Google's trust. Then you just want to come and take over just like that? With simple on-page seo?

Do some proper SEO for your blog and offer high quality content then you'll get the traffic you desire. Prove yourself to Google and other search engines that your content deserves to be at the top, get people talking about your website and building organic backlinks for you. Work on the off-page seo as well and don't rely on your on-page seo only.

Switch your mindset and remember that it's not going to be as easy as optimizing the website then BAM you start ranking! Come back to the real world, you're in lala-land :DD:

Should I move to wordpress with my own domain name?
That's totally up to you, I've outrank big and popular websites using the free blogger platform but had to switch to wordpress for more flexibilty.

I think that wordpress has little edge over blogger while we are talking about indexing a page or post. It's my personal experience though. Also wordpress is better in terms of applying SEO techniques.

I agree with you, although blogger is hosted by google but wordpress on your own domain will have more advantages on SEO because it's have more support plugins, friendly themes and especially it's also friendly with google, not only blogger.

Stop clowning around guys, next time bring facts and proper research for your opinions. If wordpress makes it easy to do seo it doesn't mean it gets indexed better than blogger, that's a lie! Both platforms are good for seo.

Non is better than the other when it comes to getting indexed, I can outrank you with a blogger blog even if you're using wordpress.

And don't say "I think" bring facts and proper research on the table, we're not interested in your assumptions!

But don't take it from me, take it from someone who worked at Google:

No. It depends what the person creates on Wordpress. I can create a totally jacked up site structure and Wordpress is not going to save me.

2) WordPress follows the norms and regulations of a good blogging site
Norms and regulations of a good blogging site? You just made that up. There is no such thing.

6) it also provides you the option to schedule your posts
Any platform will allow you to schedule things.

Bottom line, neither Wordpress or Blogger has an SEO advantage over the other. It is all just HTML/CSS/PHP in the end.

Actually, to be honest, Blogger is superior out of the box when it comes to SEO. Far less bloated code.

Wordpress is a great platform, I'm not going to discredit that. However there seems to be a lot of people that think Wordpress is the best thing since the Comodor 64. Just like the people that think Apple products won't get a virus and that Dell computers are the best.

Everything is not better on Wordpress!
Wordpress is not even a good choice for every site!

SERP's index pages by first reading their sitemap. Both platforms have a sitemap. Its XML. No major difference between the two.

Do you really think Google is going to give preference to a wordpress site, over a site that uses its own blogging platform?

Dont drink the Wordpress kool-aid!

Blooger is based on XML language. Wordpress being based on php is faster in crawling, caching and indexing.

Huh?
No matter what the site is written in, it is still rendered and indexed as HTML.

Do you really thing Google doesn't have a good way of indexing their own blogging platform?
