Only some minutes more, I will create a facebook page or group for marketing our online business, I'm considering between fb group and page, in your personal opinion, which one is better for marketing? which one is easy to drive traffic to your website?
Any thoughts from the social network gurus in here?

I find that having both is a great way to drive traffic to your site because some posts get a lot of engagement and shares on groups while other posts do well on the fan page. Even today I can't figure out which one brings more traffic, sometimes it's the group and sometimes it's the fan page.

With fan pages you also rely on facebook's newsfeed algorithm whereby your posts will be shown to more of your fans depending on how much engagement you get. While on groups, it depends on whether the group has a lot of spam or not. I moderate all posts to avoid any self promotion and encourage people not to switch off their notifications by letting them know that no spam will be allowed.

In my group, I only allow posts like "Thank you for adding me..." or questions related to the topic and a few blog posts or videos that I believe will add value, I don't approve every blog post or video though, I'm really picky.

So both the fan page and group have their advantages and disadvantages so I would recommend you to use both.

Thank you so much for this advice and I created both pages and groups, some groups worked and some are not.
After some tries, I see that Facebook fan page should be used with FB ad if no, it is very difficult to increase reaches on posts and likes
vice versa, Groups are free and easier to develop and getting new members by some promotions.

If you are looking at these for marketing purposes it would usually be best to start a Facebook page and build it up with friends, followers, likes, etc., and then start the Facebook group.

This way you have a known Facebook page that can be a source of referrals, directing group members to, gaining some trust and authority as well as some other uses.

If you just create a Facebook group without other helpful background information, leads and information then people might not be so easy to want to join and/or participate in the group.

Creating Facebook page for promoting and marketing your business then creating Facebook group for customer servicing & supporting after that. It means using FB page to find new customers and then using FB group to keep them stay longer. IMO

Good luck to you.

Step 1: Posting strategy (schedule about 3-4 posts/day, relavant to your niche)
Step 2: Invite all your facebook friends to like your page
Step 3: Simultaneously doFacebook ads (choose your target wisely)
Step 4: Share your content in relevant facebook groups
Step 5: Engage with your new followers (each and every one of your newcomers should be your new best friends)
Step 6: Tap into other social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) where you know other businesses from your industry are doing well.
Step 7: Always try and bring something new!
Cheers!

I personally would be going with a Facebook group because it affords me the opportunity and liberty to manipulate and exploit it to my satisfaction. I can choose how I would want the group to operate and even have fellow administrators who would assist me getting the best out of the group page.

I might decide to set the group to be an open or closed group depending on how my operations in the group is progressing. Facebook group is much better for me when it comes to social media marketing.

Hi there, I'll recommend using a
group rather than a page. In a group
you can add people that you think
may be interested in the products
or services your are selling while
If you use a page you would have to
use funnelling techniques to attract
and invite people to your page..so
that's the main difference.

Another important aspect is if you
use a page, Facebook takes control
over the number of people who'll see
your posts and they'll charge you extra
if you want your post to be visible to a
number of persons which I think is very
unfair. It doesn't work that way in groups
you could easily link other groups to your group so that when you post in it all the members of your group and other groups you've shared to can see your posts.
