Are Meta Keywords still important for Google, Bing or Yahoo?

Hi webmasters,
I have to ask this question because I have ignored more times with meta keyword tags in my websites. I'd like to know today it is still important for Google, Bing or Yahoo search engine?

Hey JoeHamilton,

That's good that you ingnored meta keywords in your website because not just Google but other several search engines are ignore meta keywords tag. search engine crawlers are no longer crawl this tag. So if you insert this tag into your site or not there is nothing change with this. As they don't crawl tag that means they no longer gives priority to it. So forget this but make sure to enter meta title and description.

Bing and Yahoo! ARE still counting it toward your websites. Don't completely disregard them.

Meta keywords are always important and they should be targeted at specific pages. It is obvious that the home page should have more keywords but then it is equally important for the rest of the keywords to be distributed among the rest of the pages. However, the keywords should be present in the title and description.

I believe if we are optimizing meta tags that we can add meta keyword tag as well... we can add them if we have time or leaving them blank will also not be a problem too.. Make sure not to do keyword stuffing... Search engines crawl and index keyword tag but i not sure about the prominence assigned by them..

Meta keywords are no longer consider as part of on page optimization. Because spide of search engine's are no longer crawl meta keywords.

yes meta keywords are not useful in seo as though the crawling of the google and search engines not giving much importances to the keywords.
