I am very new to designing and want to learn logo creation. But I dont have the budget to buy adobe photoshop. Is gimp a good free alternative or I should spend some bucks on Photoshop before I start?

And also please let me know if there is any other good software available for logo creation.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello!

There are two available options:

1. Use Gimp -> It has the same functionality as Adobe Photoshop
2. Use Paint.NET -> It is more user-friendly thank GIMP, but it doesn't have all Gimp/Photoshop functionalities
3. Use Inkscape -> It is more user-friendly thank GIMP, but it doesn't have all Gimp/Photoshop functionalities (it is good for linux)

Hope this helps!

Gimp is more similar to adobe photoshop but has less features then photoshop so its your wish to start with a free one or paid one

I'd advise to use vector programs for logo creation but it's not necessary. I would go with Illustrator and Inkscape.

I think like @Mourrought to use vector program for creating logos.
You can use Inkscape like free alternative, it is similliar to Adobe Illustrator. I use Inkscape when use Linux :)
