To use the rpm command to update software packages under Linux US servers, please follow the steps below:
Open Terminal.
Enter the following command to view available package updates:
sudo yum check-update
This will display a list of updatable packages with their current and new versions.
To update all updatable packages, enter the following command:
sudo yum update
This will automatically download and install all available updates.
If you only want to update a specific package, you can use the following command, replacing package_name with the name of the package you want to update:
sudo yum update package_name
For example, to update a package named “vim”, enter:
sudo yum update vim
After completing the update, you can run the sudo yum check-update command again to ensure that all packages have been updated to the latest version.
Note: You may need administrator privileges when executing these commands. If necessary, preface the command with sudo.
