Pros and Cons of AWS versus Dedicated Server Solutions - simply looking for real world "story" and industry expert's opinion of the two.

Possibly:
Differences between "customizing" a virtual environment (cloud) versus a dedicated hardware/software solution?
Scalability versus Price - Cloud solutions are known for their scalability, but how does pricing compare?
Reliability - both are relatively reliable, so why would you select one over the other?

Virtualization gives you the opportunity to add resources as much as you need at any time, plus you can only pay in AWS when you use an instance, you can pause if you don’t need an instance, you need to estimate in advance how many resources you need, plus there are some physical limitations in assembly, there is no scaling, as for example in ABC, and you can’t put a dedicator on a “pause”, but the price for a dedicator can sometimes go lower than for ABC along with these features
The advantage of dedicated server is that, as a rule, no one considers traffic for you, you pay for gigabit and use it at least in the shelf all the time, in AWS traffic is expensive.

Scalability versus Price - Cloud solutions are known for their scalability, but how does pricing compare? Here the principle is the more instances the more you pay, it makes sense if you have a seasonal load, and sometimes you need more instances to process more requests, or a fast-growing application..

Reliability - both are relatively reliable, so why would you select one over the other?
Depends on the task and your application. If you do not plan to use all the advantages of AWS (scaling, suspension, fast deployment, etc.) and use it in the same way as a dedik, then it will be much more expensive for you. If you know how your application will grow, how much resources you will need to cover peak and normal loads, and you need a dedicated server for everything, then you do not need AWS, as it will be more expensive

Hello SenseiSteve,

When it comes to hosting your website or application, you have two main options: AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Dedicated servers. Both have their pros and cons, so it's essential to understand the difference before making a decision. AWS is a cloud-based platform that offers pay-as-you-go pricing. It means you only pay for the resources you use, which can be helpful if you have a fluctuating or unpredictable traffic pattern. AWS also offers a wide range of services, so you can easily scale up or down as needed without worrying about managing your own infrastructure.

On the other hand, Dedicated servers are physical servers that are owned outright by you or your organization. It gives you complete control over the server and its resources, but it also means you're responsible for all the maintenance and management. Dedicated servers can be more expensive than AWS, but they may be a better fit for certain applications or websites requiring a high level of performance or security. So, which one is right for you? It depends on your specific needs.

There are many reasons to choose a dedicated server over AWS. However, here are some key differences:
  • Dedicated servers offer more control and flexibility. You can customize the server to your specific needs and requirements.
  • AWS is a shared environment, so you don't have as much control over the resources and performance.
  • Dedicated servers usually offer better performance since the resources are not shared with other users.
  • Dedicated servers can be more expensive than AWS, but you may be able to get a better value by buying in bulk or negotiating a long-term contract.

AWS relies on a network of physical servers spread across multiple data centers worldwide. In contrast, dedicated servers are single-tenant physical servers usually located in a single data center. AWS prices are based on a pay-as-you-go model, where you only pay for the resources you use. It can be an excellent option for businesses with variable or unpredictable traffic levels. In contrast, Dedicated servers are usually priced monthly or yearly basis, regardless of how much they're used. Therefore, it can be a good option for businesses with more predictable traffic levels.

So, which is suitable for your business? If you need the flexibility and scalability of the cloud, then AWS is a good choice. On the other hand, if you need more control over your server environment, then Dedicated server solutions are the way to go.

I hope the above information helps you to understand the difference between AWS and Dedicated Server Solutions.
