So I notice some business websites use a custom page as the blogs home and a specific blog page for their entries. Personally I like using my entries page as the home page so members can read my thoughts and not get distracted by a page. I think for business it helps having a custom page so they can describe their Business and what they offer. Another great features some themes offer is a portfolio to show off their work and many home pages allow for a widget on the home page. I also think that it helps designers describe their work with a custom home page.
