Many website creators start out using free hosting which is good for small sites but as your site grows your going to want to upgrade to a paid host. The reason you want to upgrade is because free hosting only offers so much space and bandwidth. If you run a forum that has many images it can eat up your space. Not that free hosting isn't good it's just when your site grows you will need to expand on hosting.

Yes you're right, but it's all depends upon for what purpose you need free hosting, If you need to host a web site then you should not go for free hosting service, as they are very slow, downs everytime, I would suggest you to Google it " $1 web hosting or $1 unlimited shared web hosting as they costs cheap but provides you the best possible service as every hosting required.

Free hosting, IMO is hardly ever worth it, unless its really just a hobby site or your first site. You can't fully rely on it, and I strongly suggest you keep backups around for the worse case scenario. This goes also even for some paid hosts.

Most paid hosting accounts nowadays offer unlimited domains/features (so you can have lots of sites on 1 account, or a reseller account with many accounts) and are well performing and usually have more features or are better equipped to support their customers compared to free hosts. And you avoid the possible chance the free host decides to put ads randomly, or load the server up with too many users.

If you cannot even afford $1 for web hosting, you don't deserve to make money online.

Sorry to be blunt, but it takes money to make money. Being El Cheapo will not help you in the long run.
