Local or international web hosting?

My friend want to start a new website and he want to buy a local web hosting service in his country which can help speed up his websites but I recommend him to buy a international web hosting because there are many providers for international web hosting with better price, also he can use CDN which can improve his website loading like a local web hosting. What do you guys think? Local or international web hosting? which one is better for your websites?

If you have international market so international host is better but if not there is no reason to use it

If your business targets a worldwide audience then can opt for International providers, but If in case your target is local audience then can go with the local service provider.

My business targets Indian clients, so I have opted for an Indian provider for better speed and performance.

According to me, using an international server with a CDN may be the same as a local server if its price is better.

I think it only matters how reliable the host is. You can use CDN, cache plugin, and other services to improve the loading speed of a website. So, I think it's better to focus mainly on the quality of the services, the specifications of the plans that they offer, as well as on their price, and not so much on the location of the host.

Another point of view, Just be careful with local company, at least here in Panama, there is many many many hosting companies but many many of them are just resellers or have servers in other country. We are one of the 5 who have real servers in the country. So do some research if that local provider have their servers local for real or are hosted somewhere else.

Both of the current hosting services that I use are international and I've never really had any problems. It is up to him whether or not he wants to go with a local service but I would be careful. Always go with a reliable company.

I will use local hosting if my website is target audience in my country and vice versa, I will use internal webs hosting if I target global audience.

This is very good question to ponder upon when getting a hosting. I would recommend to do enough research on which web hosting company is suitable for your website, in term of pricing, specs and support. After that you may need to look your website or business long term plan. Is there a need to go internationally? if there is, then you may need to start having your website to host in a better server out of your local area.
I do notice a lot of web hosting company do provide cheaper price to international customer compared to their local customers.

Based on My opinions, local or international web hosting company its depend with their quality service. So, before you choose one web hosting provider, maybe below some tips that you can do :

what hosting services they offer
the hardware support, will later be able to support your needs
uptime guarantee
competitive price
professional technical support
various hosting plan they have

International is good, but the server latency is better when the host is local.

I would stick to local.
