Is having free hosting that important?

Just a random thought in my mind, although a lot of people is looking for free hosting but do you really want a free hosting for your business or personal use and expect it to be giving you return?

I think it is just important for newbies who didn't have a good budget for starting a new website.
For more people are doing online business, they always go with a paid service as paid domain name or hosting plans, and yes, I am in one of them

I remember I used a free hosting service was over 12+ years ago.

When hiring a web hosting, we probably do not pay much attention to what we buy since we will be looking to save money as much as possible. Many choose to have a free hosting and thus save costs. However, if you choose to have a free hosting you cannot demand it to work 100% every day. Nor can you complain if your website disappears one day since it's free. As a general rule, you do not have a guarantee of anything. Plus, customer support is virtually non-existent.

But as far as performance, a free web host is never going to give you the best level of performance especially when you run a well known and high traffic website. Trust me you will never prefer to baffle your potential clients with slow loading pages, frequent downtime and constrained bandwidth limit.

Not really because they often turn out to be limited trials. After a while you are asked to pay for it. In most cases, this price is usually way higher than normal services. If you added a credit card during signup, then they can charge you without giving you any warning.

In general, the use of free hosting for your site is a good idea if you want to get a free hosting in order to learn and practice using the control panel hosting or training on the use of a particular script. Other than that you must have paid hosting.
