What do you think about current status of hosting market? How is it going these days? Is it growing rapidly because new websites are created everyday all over the world and people are needing web hosting packages for their websites.

The customer numbers are growing as more and more people move to use online services however competition is also rapidly growing.

It is a very tough market to get into however in my opinion very fun at the same time.

Dealing locally can be a major benefit to you. Hostgator is the dominant player nationally which means you can usually cut anybody's current hosting costs. Just look at the prices on this forum. They are hard for big giants to beat!

Web Hosting is growing as rapidly as any other industries out there. I have a web hosting review site for last 4-5 years, my affiliate sales have been increasing consistently every year.

The market is more divarse than it was several years ago, most of the major providers got acquired by EIG which is known for drops in quality.

Why don't you join web hosting offers, you can make more money from direct sales than earning via commissions?

For a normal user, it's hard to know if a web host is under by EIG companies. I may be the same till I can check the service is quality or not.

Ofcourse hosting market is growing however the way people do hosting has changed a lot as well as there is a tough competition and saturation too. Starting up hosting organization is easy however maintaining , running , operations is quite hard. You need to make sure you have sales every day ..it needs a lot of patience , hard but smart work and the most important factor 24x7 Support availability.

Would you please define "hosting market"? What do you consider to be a "hosting market"? Does it include the corporate data centers and the services offered by companies like Google, Apple, IBM, Yahoo? Does it include what's called Cloud?

Webhosting is and was always over saturated. If you look at Google trends, search terms like "Web hosting" and "managed hosting" have been declining in recent years, while keywords like "wordpress hosting" have been rising in the last few years. Staying on top of trends sets most hosting companies apart from the rest, to be honest.

I think the market has been steady, however I have noticed a bit of consolidation in the market (with fewer big players).
