Hello Guys.

I am planning to hire a writer for my website. I will pay the writer. However, I have this questions in my mind:

1. Do I have the full rights on the content wrote by the writer I hired?
2. Do I need to acknowledge the writer?

Just clarifying if there some rules regarding this.

Thank you.

Hi!

1. Yes, for sure. You have to be clear when you hire the writer, though. You can hire a ghostwriter, and publish the content under your own name.

2. No. As I wrote above, ghostwriters are not credited with making their contribution. They can write anything, from blog posts to academic papers, and still won't be credited for it.

Just make sure to tell the writer you're hiring about the job position and the credits, if he has done this type of jobs before I doubt he'll have any complaints.

Good luck!

Wait. So that is what ghostwriter mean. Actually, I am encountering the word "ghostwriter" and forget every time to look for the meaning.

Thank you for clarifying this thing to me.

As a content writer, I would not expect you to acknowledge me at all. If I agree to write for you then I sell you the copyright for that work. The exception would be if a contract specified my name would be included.

I see. Thank you for the ideas. It is clear to me now. At this time, I need to write for myself as I do not have a stable income yet.

It will depend on your terms and conditions that you will discuss with your soon potential content writer depending on the nature of your website.
If you'll be hiring a ghost writer and an experienced one, it's understood that they will acquire 0% credit on the work. You basically own the copyright which gives you the flexibility to add personal touches if you intend to by changing/modifying the content to your liking.

For the meantime have fun writing and if everything goes well that you may need a content writer I hope everything goes well on your website! :)
