ImageMagick mostly is used for manipulating images: converting, editing and displaying vector or raster image files. This application reads lots of different formats of files. To my knowledge, TYPO3 requires ImageMagick installed on the server to work properly. If your website's content management system does not require it now, you can keep it disabled.

In my website system, it has two options

Imagemagick PECL extension
PHP built-in GD image library

The default setting is PHP built-in GD image library, I should use Imagemagick PECL extension instead?

GD image library also manipulates the image files and can create/resize/format them. If there is no exact need for ImageMagick for you, you can leave it disabled.
