Hello,
yes I have a Plex server shared with few friends, but I do not use cloud storage with Plex, I have tried with Google Drive and Dropbox but it make the web interface loading slowly and it's pretty hard to watch a movies in HD.
For few dollars ($20-$40), you can have a dedicated server with 2TB storage from kimsufi or even more from hetzner server auctions.
