The Managed WordPress Hosting servers are specially designed to host only WordPress websites. There are some advantages and disadvantages of using WordPress Hosting over normal shared hosting.

Let's discuss advantages first of WordPress hosting servers,

1) As mentioned previously, these servers are specially configured/tweaked to host only WordPress websites so you will see some difference in the website loading speed. The website will work little faster on managed WordPress hosting as compared to the shared hosting server.
2) You will get the support from WordPress expert team so if anything goes wrong then it should be resolved promptly whereas, with the shared hosting, their support team will ask you to contact your web developer if there are any issues with your website.
3) The WordPress CMS related security patches will be applied to the server so chances of the website getting hacked are less.

Let's discuss disadvantages of WordPress hosting servers,

1) Due to highly customized servers, there will be some limitation while managing your website. Same applies to control panel, they are also highly customized so sometimes, it's really hard to work with your website.
2) Some WordPress themes or plugins are not allowed to use the WordPress Hosting service whereas on the shared hosting you don't that such restrictions in the place.
3) You can only host WordPress CMS websites on the managed WordPress hosting service but this is not the case with shared hosting.
4) You will need to purchase additional email hosting plans in order to host emails for your business domain.

Conclusion:- If you're specifically going to design a website using WordPress then Managed WordPress hosting is the way to go. Otherwise, normal shared hosting is best options so you can try to create the website using some other CMSs too like Joomla, Magento, OpenCart, etc.

Few things to consider...
- Cost
- Type of plugins you plan on using
- Flexibility in customizing
- Support - dedicated or general?
- Speed
- Server Resources
- Security
- Timely Updates

The first thing you need is to have a honest web hosting provider which has a good infrastructure. This means enterprise level storage, preferably SSD-based with some form of fault-tolerance. The support is also important as well as the web hosts network.
