WordPress Plugin Failure to Update?

Hello everyone.

I just want to ask what will happen if Wordpress plugin failed to update for a long time. What is the purpose and importance of it? Is it required to update or not?

Please check if you have set maximum execution time for processing your request from the PHP value. Please set it to it's maximum value. After that give a try. It is necessary to update the plugin because it will not work, if you will keep it's old version as it is. It will stop functioning so you should update the plugin.

Wordpress plugin failed to upgrade because of some reasons

It is not compatible with new Wordpress version.
It is not updated by its author.

It will make your site has better security because your plugins are up to date.
It always is required to updated for all plugins because web hosting software or Wordpress versions are always updated and they require your codes need to be compatible with.
