HTTPS without SSL?

Can HTTPS server configured without a server certificate? I am just curious about this because almost time I have setup HTTPs for my websites then I need certificates from providers as Letsencrypt or Cloudflare? Is it possible to have HTTPS without SSL?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to have the HTTPS without SSL. If you will access the service with https without SSL then browser will generate the warning in the web browser.

If you would like to access any service with https then please install the SSL certificate.

HTTPS means HTTP over Transport Layer Security, so if you want to get access to website by HTTPS you need to get an SSL free or paid one

Without having SSL certificate, you cannot use HTTPs protocol. If you try to access a website, which does not use SSL certificate, with https protocol the browser will issue a warning. Letsencrypt provides free security certificates, you can try it.

As stated above it's a secure socket layer (SSL) which is required for HTTPS, but you can get free SSls with LetsEncrypt and the cPanel signed ones if your host provides them.

HTTPS should be SSL certified. It is a protocol and for protection purposes not only to you but to your users. Others are able to get away without SSL but encounter a lot of problems later on like unnecessary redirect links, security warnings, etc.
