I launched this blog two years ago. In the beginning, I was very active. I published contents and promoted the contents through social media sharing. The new blog was not earning me anything, it would take time. I became impatient and left the blog and went for other lucrative things, writing for clients for instance. Now I am thinking to bring the blog back to life. What should I do apart from adding contents, updating contents and sharing on social media.
Website: Travel Nepal
Niche: trekking and mountaineering

Hello vinaya,
in my opinion, a blog isn't a place to try to earn money, at least not at the beginning. You need to write article with interesting content, and because you want to share this content with other people. Not because you expect to make money later. And if after few years you have enough traffic, then you can think to include some ads (without breaking your website design).
But there is nothing worst than a blog full of ads and affiliates links, with content written to earn money.

I agree. When I launched this blog, I was publishing on many writing websites and earning good money from publishing articles. Many people adviced me to launch my own blog if I thought blogging as a serious vocation. I did launch my blogs. However, bringing traffic was a problem. On writing sites, I had hundreds of followers and when I published, theychecked my posts, however, my blog had very few subscribers. I lost traction. I want to rework my blog not because I want to make tons of money, I want to update the blog because it is my child and I want to see it growing.

There is a ton of competition in the traveling niche so you will not only need great content, you'll also need a SEO or social media strategy to get visitors. SEO can be very expensive so I'd rather choose building a social media presence, I think instagram is a good place to reach people interested in travel.

You have to put more content into it. It is too simple and less attractive website. In my opinion, you can pop the images on your website a little more by changing your template. I also recommended that when you decided to change your template, make sure that it maximizes all spaces in the website. I noticed that it is too compact on the desktop monitor.

I agree with what this user says.

Other than that you need to get some more colour on your website! It looks pretty bland. Try some new fonts and see if one works for you. Also I would suggest to strategically add those amazon ads to individual pages rather than have the same ads appear on every page. Like a blog entry about trekking would include a paragraph about choosing the right boots and an advertisement about boots somewhere down below it. This would allow you to ad many more ads and might increase the likelyhood of someone making a purchase. This is all while not having your pages look tacky!

I hope your blogging career goes well. Post us an update if you have some changes to review!

The only thing i like about this blog is the logo, but there is still potential to improve on it. You have not utilized Ad spaces wisely. Its all over the place. You need to strategically place Ads in your blog, without over doing it. Travel is a really competitive niche. You need to have really good content which is relevent to the target audiances. The blog needs to have fresh content regularly and keep users engaged in it. You need to improve on the social media icons, so that you can get better social interactions on your content.

I agree with Doadex with the logo I liked it also but there are still a lot of things to improve on your website. But I would like to point out the most important thing in a website which is content having a good design on the website doesn't mean it will become popular. Quality of content and number of content is what makes a website is not the images, designs or even ads. I would highly recommend you have a daily video log around Nepal which is a very beautiful country.

I saw your blog and i think you need to put more images, more content, because in some way it looks boring. Put more details, improve your website ,add some designs, borders, fonts, and background. Nepal is a good travel destination but your blog don't gives a good justice to Nepal. Made your blog site your home, decorate it, painted it to looks more attractive to your visitors .

This opinion of mine is only a suggestion i hope you don't feel offended. Because it's not my intention. i just wanna bring up some ideas to you. And i hope it could help you to improve it. Wish you all the best on your blog.

I was able to take a look of your blog. I'm not a blogger but comparing to other sites, I suggest to make it more presentable in a way that you can put some pictures or images, some just even draw but since that this is a place a nice photo would be the best. Maybe need to expand or further elaboration of the content is needed to further make the reader more excited and have interest in going or just browsing your blog. Be updated and try to learn new things in ways from other bloggers. This is only based on my observation.

My first thoughts was how nice it looked. It was simple, and looked like a normal travelling blog. The URL seems a little strange because it has no meaning. The front page has good info with many tabs, but I think you should keep it a little more simpler by not having so many articles on your front page, it seems as if you keep scrolling, the articles keep coming. The last 3 tabs (Wild Life, Video, and Volunteer) should have something in it or remove it, because it doesn't look good when someone click that tab and nothing is there. The articles had an efficient amount of information and had some good pictures.

Overall, I think there are some improvements that should be made, but it is a pretty good site.

Travel Nepal. The blog is plain and confusing. I hovered all over the site and clicked some articles. I have mistaken an ad for an article. There are way too many ads on this blog. You should put more article or content. I suggest you organize the articles by putting an archive tab. Play with colors and make your blog more inviting and pleasant to the viewer's eyes. It's a nice website, I'm looking forward to your improvements.

Compared to other blogs, yours simply looks to simple. Maybe you could use some themes that online sites provide?

Hi there!

Aside from your blog I also tried and see some travel blogs before. The first thing that catch my attention is not the "exciting" things about Nepal, the thing that caught my attention are the advertisement that is almost group up with the main content. With that, I can suggest that you can put some of those advertisements on the header or footer. You can also divide it in separate pages or put some in the border. The whole content is centered as you almost cannot maximize the whole page.

The landing page in my opinion is too long. There are many items that you can click that some of them are can be seen also on the bottom. The only thing that caught my attention is the sliding effect since all of the content including the advertisements, promotions and other things are combined in the center.

As I saw a comment, a person mistakenly click an advertisement because it's confusing. The ads gives more attraction that you want to click the ads instead of the main articles.

There will be a lot of things to improve especially in dividing your contents. You can try to visit other blogs.

I visited your blog and I'm glad that it is well designed, and I consider it friendly. It really draws me to be in Nepal while reading your content. However making money should not be the priority on your list why you make blogs. We all know that it takes time to create traffic and have regular visitors on your page.

It is wonderful that you let us experience how life is in Nepal, but you may also try to discover and experience other countries, and expand your travel blog, and then put it on your page for others who want to check out different places.

There are already a lot of travel bloggers and you have to keep up with them, if not, go beyond on what they do in order for your content to be unique and interesting.

I absolutely agree with you. A blog is where your experience is written and conveyed to the readers, help them understand your passion and opinion, not primarily to earn money. If you start a blog with the intention of making money, you have already failed in the first place, as it is the work to be done with love and passion.
