Who have tried Liquidweb here? Are they reliable?

A friend of mine is asking me about Liquidweb but I haven't used them. Reading from some of the posts here, I found out that they are somewhat expensive. True? If so, can you guys recommend me a reliable host other than Liquidweb so I could tell my friend.

Thank you guys.

Cheers!

I was also thinking too their servers were pretty expensive, but the support/customer service is really good and will help you as needed if you have any trouble with your server. And that's already something good with a managed server, performance are not bad at all, but there have some features really missing, for example there is no way to reboot your dedicated server from the client area, you have to ask it to the support team, and it's not a good news when your server is down.
So in my opinion, if Liquidweb is expensive, customer service is good. The only question is : Is it better to pay more each month to have support with Liquidweb, or to buy an unmanaged dedicated server for 3x less, and use extra money for a maintenance contract with a Sysadmin.
I have tried their service because on my customers was using their services, and if support is good, it's not always enough when you need to make sure your high-traffic website is never down.

Yes I agree with you on this one. A managed server with good customer support is always a plus specially when they are reliable and will always get back to you asap. A good and reliable service always comes with a price.

I think on my opinion, it would be better to pay more each month to have that support rather than going through some hassle in buying an unmanaged dedicated server. If Liquidweb can offer them all, and you have the money, why not?

That's the issue, they can help you if you have an issue with the server, but they will not do all the job for you. Or for that price, compared to unmanaged servers, you can easily find a freelancer or a company to setup/configure and manage your server.
So for me, support is good, no doubt about that, but servers are still 2x-3x time more expensive than some other providers

Hmmmm. From recent news their customer service WAS good.
I know a few customers that migrate from wiredtree to liquidweb and they complaint about customer support and long time support tickets with no answer.

Better check other sources cause i know things has changed in this last months.

I believe Liquidweb has acquired Wiredtree? Or am I mistaken? Don't they have the same group of supports?

Sorry I am kind of new to these web hosting stuff. I just do research on them and gather any information which might help in the future.

I'd totally tell my friend about this. I'm sure there are a lot of good options out there.

Cheers!

I have one client hosted with them on Managed server. They are very prompt on managing the hardware and the network side of issues. Also some of the time software specific issues can be handled. If you are into managed hosting plans, then they will make sure you don't get any problem. The plan price is also reasonable for medium scale clients. But for those with low budget, i'd not recommend them and instead shared hosting is lot better.

This is what I said to my friend. He is very skeptical but I couldn't blame him. I tell him to stretch his budget if he wants a reliable managed server. Personally I have not tried using Liquidweb but judging from what you guys are saying, I say it is, if not, one of the best options.

Cheers sir!
