I was looking at one of the forums and found out that the business of selling email list has become quite a hit. And it is mainly popular with the online marketing businesses?

Can anyone give me more info on this??

are u asking to sell a list or buying a list to sell to? when you do buy a list you have to make sure they are active on the list or else you will have a dead list.

Buying a email list is probably not going to give a lot of return for email marketing. The emails on the list have probably been sold hundreds of times and are already getting a ton of spam. Email marketing is still big business but you are much better off building your own focused email list rather then buying one.
