People always need good support?

Thats what makes a hosting company what it is. Take away the support and what do you have?

Its always good to know that should ever anything go wrong you have someone watching your back and that means a lot in a crisis. I would always check out the quality of support from current users before purchasing something such as web hosting or anything technical that requires any kind of technical knowledge.

Good luck

Agree with the previous replies.

I will say, it depends on how deep knowledge you have. As you have VPS or dedicated server knowledge, it means that you do have that technical knowledge. Customers always used to sing-up only when you have great support team with best technical skills.

Instead of contacting the support for simple queries, you can choose the plan in which you an contact them when you really need their help. That is if there is issue which can't be sorted by yourself then you can hand-over that to support team of your host for some fixed charged. You can opt to such support.

In hosting field, support is the key to attract the customers so you can have the support when needed.

It's not something that's vital, but it's definitely worth it to have support, you have a lot of cases where you're going to need a helping hand, be it something that has to do with the servers or something that has to do with your account such as: canceling, upgrading, asking for advice and so on. As other people stated, it is always a good idea to know that there is a hand behind you that can help you at any time.

I think hosting support is a must have if you're paying for hosting support. And if you're you're paying for unmanaged they should still offer support depending on what the problem is. I also think support tickets should be answered in a hour or less.

There are a lot of great replies here. I think support with hosting is a must, especially for fellas like me who are brand new to this. There are so many unexpected issues which can arise, so knowing that you have a good support system available is really re-assuring.

I agree. Hosting support is a MUST for any customer. I mean would you go eat at a restaurant with no waiters or manager? Would you shop at a store where every time you went in to buy something no one was behind the counter? Signing up with a host that has little to no support is a recipe for disaster. If something goes wrong you're not even sure about sending a help email because you're not sure who if anyone, is around to answer it.

In case of web hosting services, whether you provide managed/unmanaged service, you have to provide customer support. All our services are virtual services. So it's very simple to get an issue. The issue will not determine your service quality, how you take action against the issue actually express your service quality.

Support is one of the features that I look for a hosting service. If the support is not good, I will not buy hosting from that company. I chose Namecheap because my tickets are answered within 10 minutes 24 X 7. The first hosting company I ever joined was Go daddy however, I did not buy hosting from Go daddy because they said it takes almost 48 hours to receive the answer, which is very long time.

It's always comforting to have the best support. Nonetheless, a little email support is all that is actually needed. In that case, I wonder why some insist on live chat.

Anyway, in regards to email support, on my provider, it's very fast. However, my case might not be the average. Nonetheless, I'm guessing it is. How fast is your email support? Does anyone have a clue on the national average for email support?

I think we all do, Since if anything goes wrong we need someone to contact. Mainly a good customer will help us ensure that they fix everything, because one day of downtime would be a big disaster specially for big companies. So basically a good tech support provides a healthy relationship between its client.

Of course, you will need a support for shared hosting because this type of hosting is tedious to manage has plenty of facilities to operate simultaneously. VPS is light to carry and yes, you don't necessarily need a support for using this service if you do have a VPS with good quality service and hardware stability. Nothing to worry about at all.

Only in rare cases like hardware issues or network problem you needs support from hosting provider for unmanaged servers. Choosing a vps or dedicated server depends on your site traffic or application that you are going to run. It better to choose a good hosting support provider when choosing for managed, shared or reseller hosting plans.

Hosting Support is the most important part of hosting. Some time when you work, you face so many unexpected issues which is not good for your work. And I also agree that in hosting business good support is the key of success.
