if you are are shared hosting , then ask your provider if DKIM is enable for your hosting account if not they will enable it for you.

if you have a dedicated server , what control panel are you using on it ?

Hi DaRecordon,

Yes, it is true. SPF and DKIM records are effective.

If you're using cPanel, you can check in the Simple or Advanced Zone Editor for a DKIM record.

I don't see any DKIM records in Simple Zone Editor or Zone Editor in my cPanel.

DKIM has to be enabled at the package level not though the zone editor.

If you have root access you will see the feature when you edit the package in cpanel under additional setting just above the save feature.

To enable DKIM and SPF, you need to login cpanel >> Email Authentication, there you will see options to enable/disable DKIM and SPF. But please be noted that it will only work if you are using the nameservers where your site is hosted. If your site is using remote DNS service and pointed A record to cpanel account server, DKIM won't work in that case because zone is at remote location.

To verify if DKIM is working fine, just send test mail to gmail and in gmail check original mail of received mail, it will show if added DKIM is activated perfectly.

This is very simple to see if your DKIM is enable or not on your domain's dns. To check your email scrore and your DKIM status you can visit: http://mail-tester.com/ (this is the amazing online tool for checking email scores. With that you can find your email's trust score for the inbox) If you found that your DKIM is not enable then you can enable it from your DNS zone file of your cpanel, if you have access to whm then you can do it from "Edit DNS Zone File" option.

I would hope all shared hosting accounts have DKIM enabled by default... This stuff helps a little with unsolicited emails... I also recommend mxtoolbox.com for monitoring and checking reputation on IPs and etc.

Hello,
If you are using Cpanel or so then you can easily check it by Going to edit DNS zone and choosing the desired domain.
If there is mentioned SPF, DKIM and DMARC records then its good for your mail health.
If you did not find it then kindly add it there by yourself.

I am not familiar with plesk but in cpanel you will have to first enable DKIM in the package and then as you create accounts in cpanel you will have the option to set DKIM or not.

With Plesk you have to activate DKIM first in Tools & Settings > Server-Wide Mail Settings > DKIM spam protection and to check "allow signing outgoing mail".
Then go to your domain panel > emails > mail settings and check the box "Use DKIM spam protection system to sign outgoing email messages". It will create the proper DNS records.

Enabling email authentication will help your emails trust score to improve. Different email spam filters use various ways to monitor and flag emails from a particular domain.

You can do the email authentication on CPanel based shared hosting or VPS hosting easily. Simply go to Email Authentication, where there will be two option, DKIM and SPF, enable them.

Reference: https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/ALD/Authentication

You are done, your email is signed now by DKIM and SPF records. You can check your email delivery score here:

https://www.mail-tester.com/

The more score you get, better delivered your email to people. There is an article here:

http://curlybrac.es/2016/07/27/how-to-configure-a-mail-server/

helpful, if you are on VPS or other server without CPanel. Try to get maximum score. Email score also depends on other factors as well. Try DKIM and SPF and see.

Hope this helps you, Thank you
