There are a lot of companies are starting to offer software-as-a-service (SaaS) with a subscription model instead of downloading a copy of their service, install and use it for yourselves. As an user who using hosting services, do you prefer using a hosted app or a self-hosted one on your own hosting server? why?

I agree it depends on nature of business. I prefer on-premise and self-hosted.
