Which tool should I use to compare my hosting provider's speed with other hosting providers?

There are lots of different online performance tests:

Google PageSpeed Insights
iWebTool Speed Test
AlertFox Page Load Time
WebPageTest

Also there are several desktop/client software such as:

ping tool
YSlow
Firebug's Net console
Fiddler
Http Watch

I just want to decide if my hosting provider has a good enough performance or if I need to switch my hosting to another provider. So, which tool should I use to compare speed of my hosting provider with other hosting providers?

To compare them properly it will require to use exactly the same website setup and then to make some benchmark, but not with the pagespeed tools, they provide only results about your website optimization, not your hosting performances.

You can always try to check the TTFTB with https://tools.keycdn.com/performance but the best will be to use a http benchmarking tool like siege.

In addition to Google Pagespeed Insights, I also rely on tests on gtmetrix.com and pingdom.com.

Tools.pingdom.com

They are excellent tools to measure speed and website load errors

I don't understand why the result of loading speed for my website on Pingdom is always more faster than checking on Gtmetrix. which tool gives the exactest result?
Showing website errors, I have admit that pingdom did better.

The difference in speed, for the following reasons

Gtmetrix loads in Canada

Tools.pingdom.com in usa, sweden and australia

Depends where your website is hosted so will be the speed

These tools are important for website speed and errors
