How does Facebook manage their databases and hosting servers?

I am wondering how does Facebook manage their web databases and hosting servers? I heard that Facebook has more than 30,000 Servers so how did they sort out data on them? I know someone just guess because you could not work in a big data center like that.

This YouTube video shows you the Facebook infrastructure.

I would assume the actual server(s) running Facebook are made up of a huge cloud clustered at different points around world.
Facebook proberly has the largest most complex infrastructure outside of the US military and CIA
