Both are great OS and mobile platforms. It depend on what kind of script and work done on the application. I can show you 100 of sluggish app on iPhone and same on Android.

Maybe in the past, but Android's lineup has been getting dramatically better in the last little while.

For me, Android app is better. They are very competetive now.Android apps have a lot of features and easy to use.

Most of the popular applications are available on both Android and iOS, but there are still some apps and games that arrive first for the iPhone. App releases that arrive first on Android can happen, but usually for small apps by independent developers.

I like android app compare to IOS app.
Here are some reasons why I love android app than IOS:

First, there are more applications that can be used with android app. For example, game applications. There are more game applications that are compatible to use with android app. I agree also with mcnasci24 that some games arrive first on Android as I have experienced.

Also, many people I know are using gadgets with android apps than with IOS. So when sharing data or files with them, I can transfer the files through gadgets to gadgets. File transfer is easier than IOS. In IOS, the media file can be transfer using itunes desktop app.

Finally, I found android apps user friendly than IOS. Less restrictions specially those apps that are available in Google/Play Store.

I've used both IOS and Android, and I could say that the Android platform is much friendly user than the IOS. There is less restriction and there are some apps available on Android that are not available at IOS. however, the downside of the android is that it easily gets virus compared to the strict system of the ios.

I am same on boat with you, I also used iPhone (run iOS) and Samsung Galaxy (Android) and I see that Android apps is more easier to download, use and less restrictions.

I'm an Android guy who only uses Android and very rarely use iOS, in the case of the stereotypical old people with no knowledge on technology who somehow got their hands on an iOS device. In which case, I am more likely to find what they're looking for, and I must say, I find everything rather quickly. But still, Android bot is my best boy, but really, it's only because Android devices are cheaper and provide equally good or better quality than iOS.

All developers have a lot of Mobile App Development platforms to select from, But they would most probably choose one of the two most popular mobile OS’ today, Apple's iOS and Google’s Android OS.

So, Now the question is which of these is better iOS or Android?

Here is a short comparison between the Apple iOS and the Android OS for developers:

The Android OS mainly uses Java, which is the common programming language generally used by developers. Hence, developing Android app gets very much easier for most developers.

The iPhone OS uses mainly Apple’s Objective-C language, which can mostly be resolved by the app developers who are already familiar with C and C++. This being more exclusive and may become a stumbling block for the developers who are not too expert in other programming languages.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, both the Andriod OS and Apple iOS have their own advantages and disadvantages. Both are equally strong competitors and are capable to rule the app marketplace with their own strengths and positives.
