Is email hosting simply managing your incoming as well as outgoing emails on your hosting or does it have other tasks? can I use a shared/dedicated as a mail server?
This also includes providing webmail interface as well as storing, managing, securing email accounts, and related services? I need someone explain me what email hosting is?

Email hosting is similiar to web hosting. Usually Email hosting has better features on email purpose. That could be already include spam filtering without any additional charges

you can install email system on dedicated server and managed everything server or email related. I am recommend to use zimbra

It's exactly the same as a web hosting package apart from you just get inbound/outbound email. If you looking for a email hosting solution I would suggest you get a VPS either with a control panel or install a web based front end for browser access.

Mails are very important and when those are business mails , you must need proper uptime and backup system So that you will not miss any single mail. Thats why some provider keep email hosting separate. Incase anything happen to shared server, client email will keep working and all data will remain safe. That is the main concept of giving email hosting to clients.

If you wanted a reliabel and good E-mail system you could look at Microsoft Hosted Exchange and Office 365 which can be hosted over many data centres. You could also look at Gmail Apps. With these providers you will be charged per mailbox with a limit on how much each mailbox can hold.

Yes you are right, Email hosting provide a interface to the end user to manage his/her incoming and outgoing emails as well the provide storage etc. Also email hositng is basically use for marketing purpose like advertisement campaign, email marketing etc. There are plenty of email hosting service in the market which you can be use for personal use or business use, such as google mail service for business. which provide very good service for a business directly delilver to INBOX. There are some other open source/free email services such as zimbra mail service which you can host on your vps and it will be yours. I have used zimbra couple of times in the past its worked for me very well. As a Hosting Provider you can also start email services with zimbra and whmcs zimbra module. which is very easy to setup as well.
