How to check my VPS location?

When I'm purchasing VPS plan, I have chosen Seattle location. But when I'm checking my VPS location with what is my ip, it shows the network location close to the Portland. Is it a normal or there's an issue? How do I check my hosting server location?

Rough indication is from your IP, you can check with iplocation.net. However, this is not always real "location", depends on the network.
The IP addresses can be GEO type, example: your VPS physical location can be USA, but the IP addresses can allocated to Netherlands

In fact you should ask your host about what they meant under location, if it is only physical location, not networking than it is ok

With this tools you can detect only GEO location for IP but not physical location

If the IP shows from close to Portland that means the VPS provider must be from that location and he has got the IPs from the local IP authorities hence it shows the location. Since IPs can easily routed though your organization is NL based you can still offer US based servers using the IPs from NL authority , provided you have your own colocation facility in US and IPs routed.

You can search on google "IP geo location" there are few provider that display the location of the IP exactly is.

just google your ip location. Sometimes it won't work because house route there its all over sometimes
