Why great customer support is important?

I think customer support is one of important things to have new customers for any kind of hosting business. But it's especially necessary for web hosting field. There are so many people out there who want to have their own websites but have no idea how to set it up or to make them online on the internet. Hosting companies appeared to answer their questions. Does any one think customer support is important or its just one of hosting features to offer to customers?

Customer support is vitally important. these days almost all hostings have the same specs and prices more or less. to make a difference, it is important to have the perfect customer support that does not try to sell but cares about whats best for the customer.
I noticed many customer supports trying to sell not noticing that their job is providing support.

Good hosting can`t exist without tech support. Even if you are an expert site building you may need help choosing the right plan or you need to check if a provider has some limits on mail or traffic. Tech support and sales department can solve different questions and save your time.

Customer support is essential, if your customers feel cared for and happy with your service they will stay with you for many years.
Customer support in the hosting business is quite varied. I find myself fixing DNS problems one minute and dealing with invoices and sales requests the next.

Because it's always important to give the client a satisfying experience, a lot of people needs hosting services but not everybody know alot about websites and servers..

Customer support is very important. Almost every business need good customer service in order to develop trust. Clients also feel safer and relaxed when they know that there is someone who will help them whenever they need it.
In Web Hosting Business, it is even more important because a good number of clients don't know how to do different operation which are required for them to run and manage their sites on our serves. So a good and satisfying customer support system is needed to assist them and guide them in the right way.

Customer support is very important for any service so for web hosting services as there are many problems that customers face on daily basis and with good customer support they can use their services uninterrupted and also for companies to maintain their customer base it is necessary to provide efficient and reliable customer support to their clients to build trust and loyalty between them and customers.

Having great customer support is VERY important! No matter who you are or what you know, sooner or later you will need support from your host and it's not then that you will want to find out that the host has horrible support.

Great support doesn't mean just how fast a host takes care of your issue but also how well they take care of it.

I have had support that has been as bad as it possibly can get, to awesome support, I prefer the awesome support! ;)

Customer support, however, is not as important as customer acquisition. If you can get enough customers fast enough, customer support is your #2. The purpose of it is simply to retain the customers you already have. It helps you not reduce income but doesn't do as much to get more income, except by upselling. An example of this is Host Gator. They pretty much dominate the hosting industry, but we all know their customer support, although is "okay" it is also always a long waiting period, sometimes up to an hour. Yet they are the biggest still.

Customer support is most difficult when scaling.
