Which one is best, SSD hosting or HDD Hosting? I saw hosting plans and some are offering HDD while another for both, SSD and HDD. As I know then SSD has better performance but I could not clarify this. For your choice, would you go for a SSD hosting plan?

SSD has these main advantages:
Better performance.
Websites should not take more than 3 seconds to load and faster read/write speeds allow websites to load faster. SSDs can help to achieve this speed as the performance of SSD is much better than traditional hard drives.

Reliability.
SSD don't wear out over time as they don't have any moving parts and are more reliable than non-SSD drives. Traditional hard drives also good and reliable but SSDs use a more efficient technology that can stand better over time.

Environmentally friendly.
SSDs are more eco-friendly as they consume a lot less power compared to normal disks, produce no sound, and are cooler than HDDs.

While the disadvantages are:
More expensive.
Regarding prices per gigabyte, SSDs are more expensive than HDD.

Limited storage capacity. Although, it is getting better.
As compared to HDD, it stores less amount of data due to its low storage capacity.

Typically, SSD's are much faster. If you host uses CloudLinux, your IO limit would (hopefully) be larger than a host without SSD's.
SSD's are the future, and IMO, much better.

For web hosting, always SSD.

Use only HDD for backup solution, but for your website choose always SSD hosting. It's the first step to get a fast website.

And like Localnode say, it's a little more expensive than HDD (not on shared hosting) but there is more and more big SSD with 480GB or 1TB for cheap.

SSD all the way, as Virtubox said HDD are only really good for mass data storage but they will become a thing of the past over the next 10 years imo.
To put simply SSD have far greater data read time compared with HDD. If you have switched from an HDD to SSD in your own PC or Laptop you will know how it's the difference between
an ipod and a CD, technology moves on.
