I am looking for a VPS but I read that a cloud hosting can be better, I have no ideas with cloud hosting. Would anyone explain me which is cloud hosting and does it have any pros and cons over a VPS?

Cloud hosting can really mean a lot of different things, just based on who you are going to use as a provider. Generally, a cloud is something that is scalable and "always online" or offering a failover for your virtual machine (vps).

VPSs are generally a single point of failure because if the physical server your VPS is running on goes down ... so will your vps. In a cloud environment (again depending on how it is set up...) your virtual machine will fail over to a physical server that is working.

As far as resources or being "better" for compute, it all depends on what the cloud is running on vs what your vps is running on. Share some details on what your server is doing and I can help more.

always online? so how to check if my hosting is a cloud hosting? it looks like a multi VPS? and what about pricing of cloud hosting?

What details do you want me to share? website info?

Like BNGM said, it really depends on if the provider has a true cloud setup. Sadly, too many providers use this as a marketing gimmick and their 'cloud' is no more stable then a traditional VPS.

Also, cloud hosting can still have single points of failure. What you will need to do is look around for reviews, and check the providers TOS for their uptime guarantee.

Providers like Digital Ocean and Vultr are not offering a true cloud service - they're simply offering VPSs with hourly billing.
The definition for "cloud" is dependent on the provider, and chances are you're probably just buying a standard VPS.

So my suggestion is pretty simple - go for a VPS. If it is a true cloud, it's probably substantially more costly than a VPS.

I wanted to try DO but since hearing this I am reconsidering my decision.

If I want 2GB of RAM for a small VPS in DO, it's still good? what control panels would you recommend to install on the VPS?

cPanel is by far the most popular, and probably the best hosting control panel.
If your looking for a free option, try CentOS website panel.
