Have you ever attended an SEO or Internet marketing conference?

Have you ever attended an SEO or Internet marketing
conference? I have seen some adverts for conferences
but I have never thought of attending one until this year. I think that it
would be great to meet and mingle with other Internet marketers.
I want to know if anyone here has ever attended an IM conference
and if it was worth the experience. Most of the ones I have
seen organized are in the US, so I also wonder if there are conferences
organized in other countries too.

Hi,

While attending SEO conferences might be a good thing in building up business relationships, I personnally prefer to attend online webinars where you can interact with participants and get the same value as the real world conferences.

Never attended an SEO or IM conference, and really never found one that I thought would be worth attending. Inbound is the only one I've been tempted to go to.

I have attended many conferences though, but they were trade conventions, Roofing associations, and different service businesses that have conferences which are great networking opportunities and great opportunities to pay for booth space.

So, I'm less interested in networking with people in the same industry since the opportunity is usually outside the industry.

Just my opinion.

I wouldn't mind going to an SEO convention, just not something I get excited about lol.

Attended Local SEO conference It's a great opportunity to meet others similar professional and buildup network each other. Never attended an International SEO or IM conference I will will join an International SEO conference in near Future.

Let me tell you, if you have the means and opportunity to physically
attend a seminar hosted by someone who actually knows the industry,
there is no better place to be.

The thrill and excitement and atmosphere are second to none, but, of
course, 90% of the experience is the hype and energetic vibe. When
I feel myself getting "slumped" or "bogged down", I usually try to find
one to attend as it can be extremely re-vitalizing. Usually always a
good time to be had. The socialization alone is awesome but the stuff
you CAN learn can be worth it's weight in gold and many times 100X
worth the cost of admission...

Some are NOT CHEAP, so, again, only attend one if you can financially
afford to do so... Do NOT break the bank or risk next months mortgage
payment simply for the sake of saying you have attended one...

The experience is great and thrilling but only when you know you have
a roof and 4 walls to come back to, I assure you.

Webinars and conference are a great place to exchange information and meet people in the same niche: You can take home some good points which you have not attempted so far!!

As they say, a chat with a wise person is worth thousand books, it really work wonders on how you turn your ideas to outputs
