Is it possible to convert blog posts to an ebook?

I have about 10 blog posts and I would like to create an eBook from them. I am not sure if this is a bad or good idea.

Yes, it is possible to do that. As for this being a good idea or not all depends on what your trying to do. If your trying to build up your rep/and or build a brand than I would go for it. You can do this by selling it for cheap or giving it away for free with links back to your site which could help bring in some more traffic to your website. I personally would give it away to increase traffic so you could increase your sales or any other type of revenue generation you are using on your site. You could even go a step further and contact other websites or blogs in your niche and let them give it away to their visitors to help increase your traffic. In the end it all depends on what you want to do and what your goals are.

I feel that you would basically be trying to sell open source information. So dont sell it. If you would like to post a free ebook and drive traffic to your website then go for it. This will work for you better than trying to be shady and selling info that can be learned for free online, using google.

Of course it's a good idea. I try to turn as many of my blog posts into PDF's. Usually just give them away as a download link at the end of the post. Get's more downloads and get's my stuff out there more. Course I add links and such. Nothing wrong with using them to build a list.

I've seen a couple of plugin's that will do it, though I can't remember their names right this moment. But the last one I used was just okay.

Honestly, the best bet, is just copy and paste your posts in to Word or Open Office and create a PDF. That way you can dress them up, add header, footer, links, ect. Most plug-ins or automation will probably not be that customizable, least not if your doing them in batches, and not per post.

I usually write all my blog posts in Word to begin with. Better grammar/spelling checker. Copy and paste into wordpress. Then I have a copy and can easily turn them into PDF's.

I think it's a great idea, it's what I did in the beginning just giving the pdf away to drive traffic to my content and then eventually to my first e-book which contained more unique content hand written by me for premium members of my site.

But I agree about trying to just sell junk that someone can simply Google. Make it stand out and bring traffic to your website.

Yes, it is very possible especially if you have ample following, interest, request or demand and helping people make their lives better.

I believe those who are doing well normally add more details or other features to the e-book version to make it more interesting and offer special prices to subscribers if they order immediately.

Some content management systems actually have this functionality built right in too. Look at Drupal and the "Book Module" which generates print previews / text only versions. Amazing CMS to say the least.

However, any CMS should be fine, you just might have to put in a little extra leg work to get it formatted properly for a PDF doc.

You have a good idea about converting your blog to ebook. I have been saving blogs, copy/pasting those that I love to review, and I put them in one folder for easy access on my desktop. But, I don't do ebook thing or converting blog to ebook not until you shared your idea. Now, I am just curious as to how would you do it. I would like to be one of the person to see and read your ebook.
