Too many footer links?

Are there any SEO problems if a website has too many footer links? I have 70 links in my site footer, does it matter in SEO....Should I just keep some links on footer and move them into article content instead? any advice?

I would commend removing most of your footer links. All the ones under the Category and Stock captions specifically. You already offer every one of those sub-sections in your main navigation bar.
I try to keep with the idea what is best for my users is best for Google. If you do some logical study on those links, I am willing to be they are hardly if ever used. The only way I would reflect keeping them is if I erudite my users were actually using them.

Although having several links in the footer of a website is common, having 70 like you had stated that you have is more than you probably should in most cases.

Having too many in the footer like that might set off a red flag with Google and the other SE's as looking what they call "Spammy".

If you could more evenly distribute them and make them more appropriate, I think that will definitely help.

Anything that looks way out of the norm will usually trigger the SE's to think something is up.

It's best to keep out of their sights.

I would not want to have 70 links on a page period. That makes every internal link on your site weaker.

The question that bears asking is why 70 links in your footer? Without seeing the page in question would it not make more sense to create topic or region or category pages for those links and then disperse those page links and maybe even create sub sub category pages? This starts developing page depth within your site ( and that is good for SEO ) It would also be good for User Experience ( UX ) by placing topics of interest at the bottom of every page vs 70 links going all which directions.

Wow 70 footer links! Why don't you move those 70 links to a resource page or something on those lines and then you'll only be left with a few perhaps even just the one!

Personally I would only have the required links that tell the search engines that you are a legit website, and maybe a couple important links, maybe a disclaimer of sorts, terms, policy, things like that.

Otherwise I don't think I would overload my footer because I really don't see the point, and as someone else mentioned - if you are going to have that many links then why not just put them on a resource page or something like that..

It is Good to have Footer Links but 70 are too many. You should provide easy navigation links to your website footer with primary categories. It will suite your SEO as well. Have a nice day!

I would be very afraid of getting penalization from google. I assume if its in one block of text, it is not for your visitors, but for the search engine. Google robot may have such impression.

You should pick your top 10-20 most important pages on your website & link them from your footer. Since the homepage normally has the most domain authority you want to try to pass along some of the authority to the other pages within your site that you want to rank.

Don't put too many links in the footer as this will over-dilute the home page link juice.

You can add as many as footer links. But make sure you have make most of them a nofollow attribute if it is outbound links.
