Can I copy the product description from Amazon?

Couldn't find the answer to this so I hope someone here knows.

Can I copy and paste the description of a product from Amazon and use it on my website along with the HTML for promoting that product?

You can copy the description of a product from Amazon to your site if you are promoting their products. Are you running an affiliate site?

If so I would suggest you write fresh content for the description for better SEO perspective.

Legally you are ok to do that but definitely should rewrite it, make it unique if possible.

I agree with the post above. It's not good to have a duplicate content on your website. Amazon will always get better results than your website with it. Try to make those descriptions as unique as possible.

Thanks, and you're right. Unique content is good and always better. I just wanted to make sure that IF I did have to use the original description, even for just a few days until I re-wrote it that I didn't violate some some rule. Thank you so much for the very quick answer!!

If you're promoting something, where there are a lot of technical aspects to it (like with electronics), it's okay because there's just certain information that people are going to what to know. If it's something a little less technical, it doesn't hurt to use a bit of creativity.
