WHY discussion forums are better than Facebook

I spent most of my time in Facebook not until i have learned forums like this exists. I just got overwhelmed how am i going to divide my time reading all information and discussions in Facebook and in other platforms, medias and sites like this as these are all very useful to me no matter what the downsides are.

Don't like facebook at all. I prefer forums. More organised, less spam (yes, facebook post have lots of spam) and more content focused than FB. we only use FB because that's where some of our users are and also they also expect that we are there.

Yes, I agree! Discussion forum is more efficient way to discuss a particular topic compared to facebook that is too congested that's why I find it hard to navigate. Also group admins are not that strict when it comes in posting comments and even posting on timelines, you would randomly see scams and lots of nonsense.

For me, In this kind of forum, you learned a lot of things and opinion of the others members about the topics. Like in facebook also they comment a good suggestion but most of them are negative and tells more hurt in the author.

When you want to discuss the technical things, off-course forum is the best option. Here you will get group of real technical people, without any spam users and will get the proper solution of your query.

It is true that Facebook as the number of users online a time but the percentage of actual technical people to answer your query is very less. You will get spam comments more than the actual expected result.

Forums has the actual validation and verification process which allows to sing-up only real users. Forums will have the proper riles and guidelines which everyone need to follow while posting and replying on the forum.

So I think forum is always best for the technical world. When you would like to advertise something or need more traffic on your website/blog then Facebook is the top medium to get the output. It is the main part of the digital marketing.

Just a like most of us here, I agree with you. Discussion forums such as this one, is much better. Because in here, people are actually reading and taking their time. Facebook and other social media isn't bad at all, but for an in-depth knowledge and interaction, forums are the best.

I am very much actively using FB for updates. I read a lot of comments, good and bad, positive and negative. Is FB better than discussion in Forums? Well, I am still freshman in my involvement in Forum like this one. But which is better, Forum or FB? In my observation and the way I experience it, I prefer Forum. For one reason, discussion is very positve, informative, factual, a lot of expert opinion (I like it), and I feel being part of it. The downside of FB in my experience is that I "know someone" but I don't (only in facebook). I am "a friend of someone" but not a friend, really. I have so many likes, or wonderful "smileys" but these are useless "comments?" So, for me, if I need some intellectual insights, a wonderful discussions, a positve interaction, sharing good and well-researched ideas or concepts...Forum is the best.

Discussion forums are better than Facebook because it has specific subject to discuss. It only focus on the said subject unlike in facebook there is always a comment that is not related to the topic. Though in Facebook there is also good people commenting and making advise to the said subject but for sometimes me it is limited, limited in the sense that the post and the comments regarding the said subject may be get deleted and the comment can be repeated. While the discussion forums it only flows to the said topic and may continue.

I spent more time also in facebook. But some of my friends ask me, why you dont try to join a forum? Its give you a extra income. And now i joint and i see that even i waste a lot of time here its give me extra income

For me, there is a difference in using Facebook into discussions forums. Facebook is for connecting and interacting with people, you can see different topics, advertisements and post all over the sites. If you want something to say, you will write on the comment section and soon all your connects will respond to it. It will have a long thread of discussion that sometimes their comments does not suit the thing that you want to know. Unlike in discussion forums, the people who joined in that group have the same mindset as yours and you will surely have a better knowledge about the topics that you want to tackle, the flow of conversation will be spontaneous also.

Facebook so revolutionary is the way that it has brought together the convenience and power of telephony, broadcast media and all types of audio and video processing and transmission. However, forums are more into discussions or interactions about more specific topics. For me,its about community vs. social network

I agree with you that discussion forums are better than FB. I think that people who write in forums are not taking things lightly, they sure know what they are writing about. They like to share their knowledge and experience with other members, who might take the advice for good. Forums can even open the readers mind to new levels not considered before.
Forums are specifically oriented in certain subjects, if I am looking forward to clarify any doubt, or to know more about an specific subject, for sure I will find the right answers to my questions in forums rather than in FB.

I compared Facebook and discussion forums regarding information sharing/discussion of topics. Facebook has a variety of networks/power and it does not focus only on discussions, it can be used to connect and interact with people real-time. Facebook, with its use as a discussion tool, can be used to discuss things real-time, with the use of group messengers/group live video chats and posting to several groups which can be found on its search engine. However, garbage comments/post are sometimes not reviewed. On the other hand, discussion forums, using websites, is a bit more specific on a certain topic. The posts are filtered properly and reviewed, resulting to more direct to the point and productive discussions.

In my opinion, discussion forums is better than Facebook since it promotes specific and productive discussion. Sometime it depends upon the situation, which is more advantageous to use.

I found that forums threads or posts are easy to get higher rankings than promoting on facebook page or profiles, maybe facebook is a competitor of G hence It hasn't get more prior on G search engine?

Yes I agree that discussion forums are better than Facebook. Every forum has a high quality posters and you cannot join the forum if your quality or rating is low unlike Facebook when you have a public post or questions you will also expect nonsense answers and offensive words from spammers and that is not required in most forum.

Facebook, in my point of view, is becoming more toxic and congested. People posting nonsense responses to you threads. This why I enjoy engaging in discussion forums more than in Facebook. With discussion forums, you can share and at the same time learn new ideas plus you are assured that the comments you receive are of pure senses and are connected to your topic.

Yes, you are right on this point because more people tend to join Facebook for advertising products for free and using their platform for promotions thus it lacks of useful posts for readers. It is also why Facebook is ready to pay for people who submit good articles on their platform, but to earn from this, it is very hard because it needs approval from their team.

Facebook is used by everyone. Forums are used be people with specific interest/need in the field.
FB has become far too spammy, and no credibility to anything you read there

Absolutely! Facebook, nowadays, is just a platform for free advertising. Every post I see is all about products, affiliates and networking. This is why engaging in discussion forum for me is a way greater that of Facebook.

Because people here in the forum are more mature and helpful. If you have a serious problem and post it on your facebook, people will do their best make you down or bash you, or they will just comment to insult you with their dummy accounts. Here in Forum people are serious about what they are doing they will do their best to answer your questions. So I'm very thankful that forums like this exist. How would I know? Because like me, I want to help people by answering their questions, that's why I'm here and I'm sure you are too.

Sincerely, I don't stay on Facebook as much as I stay here because I feel that nowadays Facebook is toxic. Everytime I open my feed I see drunk teenagers or fights and stuff. This is not for me. The only reason for keeping my account active is my family because they don't have accounts on other social platforms than Facebook.

Its because of expert opinions. Facebook in terms of discussions are mainly comments from friends or a user that has interest in the topic. Forums are more expertise based, members initially subscribe because either they are expert on the forum discussion topic or they can relate on the topic due to experience.

I tend to get on forums more so when I'm wanting to focus on a general idea such as computers, video games, cars. Facebook to me is just to talk with friends I don't use it find information for something I am interested in.
