Do you think pop-unders are a good type of advertisements for blogs and forums? I've encountered this kind of ads on some famous international blogs dealing with celebrity gossip and other similar stuff... When clicking on the photos or in the comment box, a pop-under would appear...

Apparently, pop-unders are not considered as intrusive as pop-up ads, so they are used by file-hosting sites. However, seeing them used on blogs surprized me. Would you use them on your blog?

Pop-under ads is really good type of advertising method, effective way to get direct traffic but no more attractive and can make users annoys by pop ups.
I will not use it for my blog or buying it from other websites. It can be good way but not suitable for me.

Any other ideas?

I would never use Pop-under ads on my website where i have small organic traffic but alot returning visitors, because this can make users annoys by pop ups ads, and they wont come again back, but if you have tons of daily organic traffic on websites such Warez, Adult, where do you dont must be afraid to lose any returning user traffic, then you can still use pop-ups ads..

To answer your question, yes, I do use them on my blog, although what i'm using is not a traditional pop integration that opens a window on any user interaction with a page. I'm personally using a network that has a very peculiar integration. Basically, instead of adding a dom event these guys alter the in-site links on your website so that the navigation and UX stays the same, and adds a target _blank to them. This way when the user wants to navigate inside my blog they still open the page they want as intended, but in a new tab. The tab that stays behind gets redirected to an ad. You could even consider this a new format like... "link-under"? Anyway, I'm quite happy with how it works, and the revenue is more than decent.
