Why website image should be 72 px resolution?

72 Pixels is the standard web resolution. It is the standard internet resolution. If you do not follow these standards, then images can't load quickly.

For suppose if you have a camera taken picture of 4MB with 300 resolution, you should not upload it directly to website. Because it will take much longer time to download in the common user who has very normal internet speed.

In the matter of internet speed and fast access of the website we should use 72 resolution only.

I disagree with your comment regarding 300dpi resolution images.

You can absolutely use these one websites, provided you optimise them properly. Yes, they will take a little longer to load that say a 72dpi image, however with the right optimisation, most people won't notice the difference in load times.

its better to use lower dpi for web images to load quickly and users friendly.

Not necessary 72x. you can set as per your requirement.
