Choose a domain name for your business is very important in internet marketing. A good domain will help you expand your brand and increase sales. Here's some simple tip to choose a good domain name for your business.

1. Don't register a long domain names, limit it from 5 to 8 characters in your domain is best.
2. Domain must relate to your niche, If you're selling website templates, try words like templates or website themes..etc in your domain.
3. Domain must be unique - Don't register domains same as existed ones.
4. try to search in Google first, if your domain going to be registered, has keyword relevancy with over 5000 results in google. That's a good domain.
5. Domain doesn't involve to trademarks with other company. If you don't follow this, you can get problems with your domain trademark.
6. After all, register your domain and setup your business.

A little clarification on Item #3 above regarding registering a domain: If a domain is already registered, you cannot register it again. So, if you want to build a site about selling dogs and dogsales.com already exists, you cannot register that domain as it already exists. You could, however, register alternate TLD versions of that name, such as dogsales.net or dogsales.info. BUT! I would not recommend that, as most people will instinctively go to the .com version of the domain name and the guy that built dogsales.com will probably end up with the traffic that you want. Find a different domain to use that still has the same idea, such as dogsalestips.com instead (NOTE: I have no idea if any of the mentioned sites already exist; this is just an example.)

Great tips. I recently changed webhosting-land.com to speedycrow.com as I found out it's best to also do away with the hyphen as sometimes people forget to type the hyphen. Also the new domain is easier to remember than the old one.

We have to choose domain name which best match with our business niche and if we insert main keyword in that then we can capture targeted traffic very easily.

KISS is good strategy but don't forget to choose one that related to your business. For example if you are all about travel, you should choose a domain related to travel for a niche content.

+1 for KISS. Don't want the domain too difficult to spell because not everyone is great at spelling for various reasons. So try to pick one that many as possible will like and will easily remember. That can go a long way.

The domain name which one selects must be able to connect to the users that are of interest to the domain owner. The domain name must secure and strengthen the brand. The domain name selected must not be ambiguous and misinterpreted into slang.

Great list by @Tommy and 1 thing that I would add to that list is that someone who is considering registering any domain should go and do a check to see if the domain has been registered before and what was on it if it was registered before.

You don't want to have a website built with a domain that was used for something previously that can be bad for your business.

Online business is one of the best ways to promote your business. Domain name will become an online identity and keep your business name and brand in front of public. Attractive, unique and short domain name can increase your business popularity on internet, thus always buy short and simple domain name because users can easily remember your business name. Do not use special character and hyphen in your domain name.

Definitely check the history of the domain on whois.domiantools.com and try to find one that has never been registered before if you want to make sure it will be sae. You can still get by with a domain that has been used before, but it could come with some problems, specifically in terms of bad backlinks or a Google penalty.
I also like to do the "radio test" - in other words, say the domain out loud and see if it makes sense.

This is a very helpful tips for those who are planning to create a website. Domain name is very important and it should reflect what your business all about. You must think wisely and precisely what terms should most people used to attract to and of course matching up with a good contents website. Your website domain should meet the expectations of visitors. Try some really convincing domain names where passers or viewers would be curious.

Your domain name name should clarify the purpose of your website. It should have the top rated keyword. It should be easy to remember and short. Make sure it is not already registered , it should be unique. Domain name affect the website success. Because if the website name is clarifies the purpose of your website then visitors get attract towards your website. It should be catchy. It depends on the marketing approach too. If you are promoting your website in unique way then name doesn't matter.

Just adding an additional information with this.
- if your business provides service like your advising or teaching you can make it personal adding your nick on it, then choose a dot name like your industry. So make a domain name "service+nick.industry" ex. advisortommy.finance or tommyagent.insurance

- if you are setting up a blog or vlog, again put insert your nick and a dot name like .me, .us, .bio, .ph ex. tommyvlogs.me

- if you want I can make a name for you for free just pm me up I might be able to give you that wperfect name for you. :ertery:

Including special characters in your domain name would be hard for the visitors to guess or to search better to avoid those. Create also a domain name which could be memorable by visitors so they will easily recognize your website and be remembered and not to get difficulties to visit back your website anytime they want too.

I think one of the most important aspects in choosing domain name is that it should be short, catchy and easy to remember. It must reflect your niche but don't make it too generic. Like if you're planning to make a website for homegrown vegetables then just don't name your domain homegrownveggies.com. Try to come up with something that catches the ear but still gives the visitors something to expect upon visiting the website.

Choosing a good domain name to your business is just easy. Just think of the very easy to remember the name. You need to be more specific to what is the use of it. You should specified its uses and how it works. You will derive the name form it. Use always com always because people are memorizing it that way.
