I recently got a website made for my business, but it’s been loading really slow, especially on mobile. I’m not very tech-savvy, so I’m not sure what’s causing this. Could it be something with the hosting or design? Has anyone faced a similar issue? Would really appreciate some help or suggestions!

Slow loading speeds can definitely be frustrating, and it’s a common issue. It could be related to your hosting — if you’re on a basic shared plan, it might not handle traffic or resource demands well. Upgrading to a better plan or switching to a host with faster servers (like ones using SSDs) can make a big difference.
The design also plays a role — large images, unoptimized code, or too many scripts can slow things down, especially on mobile. Ask your developer to compress images, enable caching, and clean up unnecessary elements. Also, check if a Content Delivery Network (CDN) is being used — it helps deliver your site faster to users no matter where they are.
If you’re unsure where to start, tools like Google PageSpeed Insights can pinpoint the issues.

Has it always loaded slowly? Is this a CMS or WordPress site? You should look into setting up caching. Also if you can make it into a static site would improve load speeds. Database optimization, gzip/brotli, etc.

Otherwise, yes, hosting quality will matter. An overloaded shared hosting server will do that, so getting quality hosting that is on performant servers and network is pivotal, but also the hosting company matters because more often than not, you are left guessing why your site is load slow or not at all while you are reaching limits on the plan resources. For example, our Optimal Web Hosting accounts you know what you get for resources like a VPS, it's transparent on the plan you choose (unlike unlimited everything plans, which is actually never unlimited anything, that's the reality, and 'unlimited' server resources is a marketing bait switch you to higher plans or VPS)

There are a number of potential problems you could be experiencing. Poor caching, server problems, excessive HTTP queries, optimized pictures, and out-of-date code are the most common causes. GTmetrix or Google PageSpeed Insights are two tools you can utilize to evaluate the functionality of your website and pinpoint areas that need work.
