Hey everyone, I was on Siteground but their renewal fees are expensive so I looked for a cheaper option....I went with a VPS with cyberpanel installed on it.

I have no idea how to manage a VPS but my websites are on it and they are running fine.

However, I don't feel safe. I paid a knowledgeable guy on Fiverr to install it all for me and he was extremely helpful.

If you were me would you move back to shared hosting or stay were I am?

If you are using it for a production environment we would definitely advise you to move to shared or managed VPS. However, if it is a testing environment or you are willing to take the risk of your website to be down sometimes in exchange for learning you can stay with VPS. Also, you need to know that if everything is set up correctly you only need to know how to use the web panel. You can hire someone to check the system and update it every 3,6,12 months that is also an option to consider.

Move to a manage VPS, make sure you read what they can and can't do. Please be aware of overselling and always look at the Service Agreement carefully.

Suggest you first go with a managed VPS provider. Also, I feel you can grow from a noob to a seasoned pro in some time if you learn on your own as Howtenko is suggesting.

Lol Actually this is very correct....
That's probably how a lot of Server Admins learnt.

But it would be easier to go this route if your Website is not Mission Critical and can afford to go down a couple of hours or days :D

I would definitely look at getting some server management, even if just one time to do additional server hardening, optimizations etc.

Your question has the answer. NO. You should consider getting a fully managed server otherwise you will always be in some mess. I've seen guys running reseller for years and when they moved to a separate VPS. They couldn't manage it. So it's not a piece of cake that's why people like us are still getting paid :p
As I always say, you can't do everything on your own. You have to outsource most of the things especially the ones you have no experience with. It gives you time to focus on something far more important like "how to get more business".
