Hi everyone,
Do you think paid advertising is a key to gain traffic and users to pay for ads such as Social networks or banner ads on forums? I have been considering this, but I would like to know which will give better results and lower cost. What is your take on this? Have you had big success with paid advertising? If so, did you have to invest a considerable amount of money?

When your website is fully optimized and you have some amount of backlinks, then, paid adv can be one of the solutions. But if people don't like the website's content, usability, appearance, they won't buy anything, you will just lose your money.

I agree with the royceD!

Indeed, for those websites which are not optimized what could be the benefits of doing paid campaigning? What services or products you want to sell needs to be clearly displayed on the website with concise content in it. Whatever paid advertising(social boosting, SEO, Google AdWords, etc.), please make it worth investment. Yet, if you're willing to go with without proper optimization, it has nothing to do with your brand's success unless you focus on value to be offered to the visitors in most convenient way possible.

Organic search is based on unpaid, natural rankings determined by search engine algorithms, and can be optimized with various SEO practices. In contrast, paid search allows you to pay to have your website displayed on the search engine results page when someone types in specific keywords or phrases. so it depends.

Yes paid to advertise a key to success. If you want to grow your business fastly you must choose paid marketing. You will get fast leads through the PPC. As well as SEO is also the best way to getting traffic on your website but the process is organically.

Paid advertising is something you could consider when you actually make a profit.
Online marketing is all about spreading the word, which can be done with a little bit of effort on social media and no costs.
I mean, look at Samsung and Apple, both are great companies and make good money every day from their smartphones, whereas other brands for phones, like Google and Blackberry, advertise way less and thus earn less from their smartphones.

To shorten my opinion: No, it's not the key to success, but it can help you move up your business to the next level (given it already has a good reputation in the world).

Hello! My two cents and my point of view. Paid advertising is one of many ways to increase traffic to your website, but the key is understanding of marketing processes. You can gain nothing investing a considerable money amount or you can make awesome advertising with this two cents of mine. Money only works mutually with knowledge. Go for proactive social media, make a blog, guest posts, referrals. One more, to attach traffic doesn't mean to make a conversion up. Give us a fetchy content.

Is paid advertising a key to success?

The answer of this question is totally depends on the quality of your product / service you offer / your website contents.

If your product quality is not good and you are spending too much on advertising, then no one will by your product. In the same way if you offer a bad service or your website content is not good, no one will visit you again. These are the most important factor that determine success of your advertisement.

no paid marketing is not key to success. you have to think entire digital marketing modules. digital marketing consists approx 40 modules. SEO, PPC and social media are major modules to establish any online business.
Try them always while starting online business.

In my opinion, paid advertising isn't exactly the key to success. Firstly, you need an attractive and fast website. You need to place useful and unique content on it, and if you sell some services or products on your site, you need to make sure that you offer great deals. Paid advertising can bring you some visitors, indeed, but if you can't offer them an attractive product or service (or an attractive price for these) they will probably not turn into paying customers. So, my advice is - firstly make sure that you have optimized your website perfectly in order to provide its users with great user experience, and then, opt for paid advertising to get even more traffic and eventually, more sales. If your website is not fast and user-friendly, and you take advantage of paid advertising, you won't achieve the expected outcomes. You will probably face a high bounce rate, lower average session duration, fewer sales, etc.

I think paid advertising can certainly help, and depending on where you are targeting visitors, you'll get a guaranteed return. To be honest though, paid advertising isn't the go-getter. The company I'm with went years without a single paid advertisement and acquired many customers who are actually still with us today by cold calling local companies. I truly think that It's better to start with local advertising as a lot of local businesses love to support local companies. That's how UnidenHosting started. You can send emails to all types of small businesses and offer a good price, nothing crazy. Once you build the reputation from local community you can branch off to nearby communities and use those local websites as achievements. I'm going to use this senior since October is right around the corner. A little horror story. Imagine yourself as a witch. Every day, you have to go out and try and look for someone to trick. On some days, you make great and cast spells on all kinds of people whereas other days you have little success. Every day is a challenge. Now lets think more realistically. If you have a baby. Every day you have to nurture your baby with care. Give them food. Clean up after them. Give attention and love. In my experience, most businesses are witches. They spend crazy amount of time trying to get new customers, and try everything in their power, as well as doing whatever it takes to make a sale (and that means dropping hosting prices at $0.01 for a entire year - with unlimited everything).

It's important to first understand your goal in advertising. Most business owners have no idea about the purpose behind their marketing. If you ask them what the purpose of their advertising is, most will say "its to sell their product" or "get their name out there". It's a wrong answer. Just dead wrong. The whole purpose of your advertising is not to immediately make a sale, it's to find people who are interested in what you do and put them on your follow up list so you can build value for them. You have to position yourself as an authority and create a relationship built on trust. That's why, for instance, we have Sales Reps and Account Managers. Not just the title of saying "hey im an account manager" but actually Account Managers that entire job and sole purpose is to continue that relationship with them and the company. LEARN your customer, learn their needs, requirements and difficulties. Make a proper solution, and stop thinking of the money figure or the sale figure. Make a solution that will work for them and something that you'd want in their situation. That's when the sale comes, if its right for them.

I think the paid advertisement can be very useful/helpful for new businesses because SEO takes time. One can give a kick start to the business and get the leads at the initial stage as well instead of waiting for the organic leads. SEO can go parallel because once you start getting the leads from the organic serarch you can then cut down the budget of the paid advertisement.
