I've ever wanted to choose between this two web hosting control panels but I don't have enough knowledge about them as of now. How this two differ from each other and how they really give their service to the users? What is more advantageous and more efficient to use?

I guess the criteria I'm setting for are:

a.) User interface
b.) Performance
c.) Features
d.) Security
e.) Cost

Thanks!

My opinion on those criteria is the below

a.) User interface
Cpanel have many options which normally one might not understand but for those who have some knowledge it is having many number of extra options.
Plesk is simple in case of options in the interface.

b.) Performance

This really depends on the Server admin who setup the server and both are a bit resource using control panel

c.) Features

Cpanel is at the moment winner in terms of features but now a days more and more new extensions are getting added in plesk and plesk is having an option to have both Windows and Linux wheras cpanel only can have linux. One thing I like plesk is the intriduction of Wordpress management in the plesk so that clients can manage wordpress from plesk itself

https://www.plesk.com/extensions/wp-toolkit/

d.) Security

Both are equally good but cpanel has an edge on this as they release vulnerabilites fix faster than plesk team

e.) Cost

https://www.plesk.com/pricing/
https://cpanel.com/pricing/

I am adding another criteria as well

f) Support

Cpanel support is still number one than Plesk support team which is the main thing and using cpanel support most of the clients can save some money who dont have a regualr paid server admin for day to day activities.

So Overall I will say cpanel is best one to select at the moment

I'm glad to hear that from you, although plesk is much more flexible than cPanel because it supports linux and windows but cPanel is much more effective to use as a control panel. Maybe I should give it a try soon. I've never use that Linux ever since. Cheers!

Interesting question, to be honest I used both control panels and I would give you my thoughts
a.) User interface
cPanel is better, easy to find things on its interface
b.) Performance
I feel that websites running Plesk load faster than websites on cPanel.
c.) Features
According to me, cPanel has better features when it comes WHM/cPanel
d.) Security
Not sure which one is better because I didn't have problems about security.
Plesk is cheaper because I bought Plesk license with $4 /month only while cPanel is $20/ month

Just my 0.0002 cents!

Nice feedback, it seems that you already experience the services of this two control panel. But overall? what would you prefer? Now i'm starting to choose between this two since I didn't use Linux ever before so I guess I should try it too. Cheers!

a.) User interface
cPanel has a much more fluid user interface than Plesk. Primarily because cPanel has kept the same overall feel where-as Plesk constantly changes the look and location of items.

b.) Performance
Out of the box they will perform almost identically. Plesk does have an edge because it supports Nginx where as cPanel does not. cPanel can be tweaked to do pretty well and supports LiteSpeed which is a premium Web Server that really make sites fly.

c.) Features
Feature wise, Plesk has a few niche premium features (site builder etc) but overall cPanel has far more features.

d.) Security
Both the same, Security is all about how you configure it.

e.) Cost
cPanel costs less than Plesk when you start dealing with more domain names, and is about the same on smaller deployments.

Thanks for giving another feedback, did you already tried this both or you just research about this two? I'm collecting some ideas based on experiences or researches to make my decision. I wish to have more flexible but handy and good service control panel. Based on your preferences, cPanel will win overall right? It looks more efficient than Plesk but I should give it a try to and compare them both. Cheers!

How you "define" your server hacked in this case? or it is just your websites hacked? there are many types of hacking and you need to be sure it came from which part on your server.

Plesk have great WordPless Toolkit and only this one fact makes Plesk winner in this comparison. In conjunction with a customized out-of-the-box nginx caching, this makes Plesk the best WordPress hosting platform.
And I'm not talking about the many great extensions that are being released for Plesk lately.

We are a Hosting Provider from 2004, we have had thousands of both servers, this is what I can tell you.
  • If you want to use server for web hosting business then go with cPanel and cloud Linux.
  • If you want to use the server and you will be the only one managing the sites then go with plesk.
a.) User interface
CPanel will be more familiar for your customers in the case you will do hosting business.
Otherwise Plesk will be more easy if you will be managing the sites.
b.) Performance
We have noticed sites performing faster on plesk.
c.) Features
Both has enough features to basic stuff. And can be added as modules or addons
d.) Security
Security both has some basic security tool but plesk add some modules and firewall management from base.
e.) Cost
From base plesk is cheaper, if you plan to host less than 10 websites plesk will be cheap otherwise cPanel

I hope it help
