My question is do I need lots of cores or a faster CPU clock speed? I almost choose a VPS or a dedicated server depends on number of cores but I am reconsidering this because I think more cores are not sure will be better than CPU clock speed. Which is exact? Can you tell me the right answer for this?

The best will be a lots of cores with a high CPU clock-speed, but do for VPS it's not really easy to compare performance :

- 2 CPU with the same clock speed can provide different performance. Always try to find what CPU is used on host servers.
- VPS CPU are only virtual CPU, not related to the amount of core available on the server, it's better to choose at least 2 vCore to use multi-thread apps
- With higher CPU clock speed, you will process code faster, but with more CPU core, you will process simultaneously code.

That's great information, I can know number of CPU cores for my server from my hosting provider but it is possible to check what is clock speed of my CPU from SSH. I have not seen a command to do this before. :)

That's hard without knowing how much access you have to the server. If your server is a linux server see if you can run "cat /proc/cpuinfo" without the quotes. That should give you information about the processor.
