I read this term on almost forums and blogs but could not clarify if it is possible for us to get a best web hosting or not. Is this just a marketing tactics to encourage sales?

From personal experience there is no best hosting because all websites run and are built very much different from others and depending on the resources our sites use, this means we work with the server / cloud we are given to make the website run perfectly for our usage and site traffic etc.

The best company i have worked with is Storm On Demand (LiquidWeb) though this is personal preference due to the support and reliability of the infrastructure they have.

for price i like 1and1 cloud but again with these the support is not the best but the prices are ok if you are able to and confident enough to optimize and work with the core servers yourself.

No, their is no best hosting. Each customer has their own requirements, even a simple thing like server location can make it the "best" for that customer.
It's just marketing to close the deal with people who take marketing at face value and don't do their research.

This business is so saturated that only main thing that makes one provider better than the other is how they look after and support their customers imo.

A customer evaluate best by support, uptime, quality of available resource . If you are satisfied on those by a host. Then he is your best host.

I have to agree with LJSHost, but we want to choose a best web hosting for us then there is a way to do that, i am thinking about a comparing tool to compare web hosting providers together, from there we can see which is the best choice that fit our requirements when choosing a web hosting plan.

even you are satisfied with your current hosting but another hosting can offer better features than which you are using, you are ready to have a move?

You can make all the comparisons you want on providers that offer everything you need, but you will not know if the service is bad or not until you start using it.

Find a few providers you like and take a monthly plan with them, it's the only way to get real experience if they are "best" for you or not.

First you need to know your requirements, make a list of providers and see which one fits your needs better. Only way to properly find out is to try them out, what works for someone else might not work for you.

Hello,

Once you get a 99.99% uptime for the hosting and fast support for the issues, then that is the best Hosting Solution.

I am sure these 2 factors will not decide to be a best hosting solution though. :)
If you have 2 these points but the rest is not good then how? :D

What do you mean by rest? We believe only a Enterprise hardware and power with Best network can only guarantee 99.99% uptime. If you get good support too, then it would be the best. These all are electronic devices man, it may be damage even if all the types of quality checks passed. then it called unluck :p

In the past, before the EIG acquisition, I believe HostGator was very highly recommended from almost every corner of the internet.. since then it's been downhill.

Most larger companies have 24/7 phone support but may only give you predefined responses ( as they are level 1 staff ), while smaller hosts may have longer ticket responses, but MAY give a better personal experience for you. It's best too look out for reviews online and try them for yourself!

That's a yes and no question, Yes the best host does exists but you have to look for the right host that suits your needs. No as there will always been bugs that will pop up eventually that may change your opinion of your host.

Possibly the slogan "One of the Best" would be accurate. Otherwise, it's highly misleading. Note, the slogan, "We are the best." is similar to the claim of some hosting companies to have unlimited bandwidth. Note, there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth, but rather such a situation can be compared to an "all you can eat" buffet.

Anyhow, would any of you use the term "We are the best." in your ad slogan? Do you feel it's a lie? Do you think it should be illegal to make false promises of that nature?

Hello David,
Hope you are doing well.

Best is a vague word. There is no such thing as best in this world, what works for a person X may or may not work for Y. Web Hosting is a combination of hardware and software and human support.

One cannot build Ideal web server that can work for any website / script or web application, as each programming language / script behaves differently and needs differently configured software and hardware.

Even on the near possible perfect infrastructure like AWS (Amazon web services) or GCS (Google cloud services) there is all possibilities for

Downtime
Improperly configured software stack
Lack of technical support people who may not be able to help you with your script or app or website
Natural disaster which no one can expect or control
Unexpected hardware or software failure, which is beyond the scope of SLA

I do not think that any comparison tool is good enough or perfect to compare hosts. If there is a tool as such it just compares the prices, plans, amount of package features likewise... no one can understand what is the real resource that a provider is offering.

And there are already websites, and tools as such which does comparison. But virtual parameters are not a way to judge a host.

I hope you got the answer, instead of chasing behind the best host, invest your time, energy and money in learning how things work and you will know that whatever i said is truth and you will be all clear.

Hope this helped you, thanks.. If this is yet another post made by you, here to increase your post count. I just wasted 15 minutes of my time explaining here.

You might wanna know their customers first, then ask each customer their experience. It's the only thing you can do if you're looking for the best webhost.

Um... Perhaps, I think it's a subjective experience but we all know that nobody would spend time and money tracking what's best in the hundreds of thousands of sites out there. Rather, we just rummage those ones we've encountered and reviewed and then choose what we've found best so far.
